Best Place to Print diy Wedding Invitations

Maria, on October 2, 2018 at 8:11 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 6 23

I am considering designing my own wedding invitations to add my personal touch or purchasing a template and having them printed. Does anyone have any recommendations of good sites or places you have used to do so? Also, I would love to know how much it cost you to do so.

Thank you in advance.

Vistaprint always has really good deals and you can upload your own work

We used staples to print our own rehearsal invites. We used a template that we got off etsy and then got kraft paper from Michaels. Staples lowers their cost when you provide your own paper.

We wanted to do the same for our invites but opted to just order them. When we added the cost of the etsy template, buying envelopes for both the RSVP and the invite, buying the cardstock, printing costs, etc. it got pretty expensive quickly. Etsy has tons of cute templates if you do go that route though!

Thank you! May I ask if you got card stock and cut it or smaller size? May I also ask what they charged you to print your rehearsal invites providing them with paper? I will probably design them myself.

We did buy larger card stock which printed two invites per page. We used our paper cutter at home to cut them and it was a huge pain. Luckily we only had 10 pages to cut to get 20 invites. Staples does offer a service to cut them and it wasn't much more. I honestly don't remember the total cost but I think it was around $5, again only printing 10 pages. I got the card stock from Michaels on sale so that was only $2.75 for the huge pack. They do also have 5x7 pieces that we purchased to print our programs on. I ordered a 50 pack of envelopes from amazon for cheap since we could use them again. We also selected an all black ink design to help keep the cost down.

For larger quantities, staples does charge more if you need them immediately. If you are willing to wait 2 or 3 days the cost also goes down. I highly suggest going to your local staples and telling them the sizes you want and the quantity and they will gladly give you a price quote.

Im going to staples and their thickest card stock still wasn't thick enough for my taste so I'm using what they use for their business cards and its about 1$ per sheet and I can fit 2 invites on a sheet. They were the most cooperative and helpful, also if your a rewards member, which you can just sign up on line, you get bigger discounts and can use coupons on printing services!

Cards and pockets (website). They have a ton ou'd customizable templates, and you can order samples for a few bucks. They're great quality and easy to print on! I'll be spending less than $200 on 80 pocket invites with bellybands, rsvp cards, and an extra insert. They are gorgeous!

I made mine in Google slides and uploaded them to Cards and Pockets. I spent about $240 on about 100 invites.

I did Greetingsisland.com for free (you can pay a small amout to have their small watermark removed. Pay once for as many as you need!) My cousin did Etsy. I believe she paid about $15-20 for the template

I got my invitations at Hobby lobby, downloaded the template, emailed Staples the template, took them the invitations and they printed them for about 12cents each one! They also printed my small rsvp cards which I also downloaded from Hobby lobby website!

The invites you took to them, were they the 8.5x5.5 ones that come in a kit? I was just wondering as I read through this thread if they could do them lol. I already bought some and that sounds so much cheaper then printing them at home.

I'm designing mine and printing them through basic invite dot com. They have a wider selection and much better print quality than vistaprint, shutterfly, etc. I use them consistently for my clients stationery (I'm a pro photographer) and I haven't had an issue with them yet in the three years that I've used them. If you're interested I do have a 20% off code that I'm allowed to share with non-clients. They typically have 15% off codes often but another 5% is always helpful.
