Best Man invited non wedding guests to bachelor party

Nattie, on August 12, 2015 at 2:43 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

So FH went out with a few friends last night. He found out some clues about his bachelor party and came home stoked that some friend he hasn't seen in a while is coming. The person he mentioned isn't getting an invitation to the wedding, wasn't even brought up as a potential guest at any point. I mentioned that its rude to invite people to the bachelor party if they aren't invited to the wedding and FH felt like an idiot that he didn't realize that himself.

So now what do we do? We don't have the space to invite this person ( and any others the BM invited) but we can't ask that he be uninvited. Do we just leave the situation be?

Thing is, they are guys, guys don't care for the most part. Let it go.

I agree with VM. If he knows he isn't invited then this isn't a problem.

Dudes don't care about these things like we do. I agree he should get an invite to both, but hopefully it's not a big deal.... Have FH talk to him and feel him out about his expectations... And tell FH not to let the guy pay for a lot at the party...

I was invited to a bachlorette party and not the wedding, no big deal. Also, they're dudes and they just want to party.

I don't think guys care as much. Just have him talk to the BM about not doing this to anyone else...

Yeah, guys don't care. Same thing is happening at FH's bachelor party. They just want to have a good time, and probably could care less about being invited to the wedding. Lol.

Men don't really care about this stuff. I imagine he knows he isn't invited at this point, and is just excited to party.

I'm pretty sure there were a few guys at FH's bachelor party that aren't invited to the wedding. They just wanted an excuse to go out a drink. Guy's don't really care about all the etiquette and rules.

I would feel uncomfortable if the friend was sharing in costs for your FH's part of the trip/weekend, but otherwise i agree with everyone else. Make sure your FH tells his boys that he's not invited and shouldn't be contributing to the weekend

Since the best man did the inviting , I see no problem with it. Let it be. Boys just want to have fun.

Thanks for the advice, I'll have FH talk to his friend and make sure he's ok with it and the boys can just party it up
