My Maid of Honour/ Best friend did a photoshoot in my wedding dress at boutique before my wedding day. The video was posted to instagram with my MOH tagged.

Hi everyone,
I’m just here looking to see if this is an issue or not.
I’m getting married in summer of 2026.
I said yes to my dress at a Boutique last month. My MOH was there.
My MOH was recently asked by the make up artist who did her wedding makeup in 2024 to do a leisure photoshoot at the boutique.
My MOH said the sales lady who sold me my dress was there and she was aware that my MOH was one of the models. My wedding dress wasn’t pulled so my MOH said she accidentally wore my dress and got videos/photos in it. She thought my dress was a different style.
The videos were posted with my MOH in my wedding dress and tagged on instagram by the boutique. My MOH and I share similar instagram following.
The boutique has agreed to remove the video after my MOH messaged them. However, they have lied and said they were unaware that my MOH was associated with one of their brides.
Is this a situation I should ignore?

The situation does not sound like a continuing problem and the boutique seems to have pulled that picture off of Instagram. So, any problems that maybe would have been anticipated seemed to have been handled in a timely fashion. I think anyone who even has seen the picture would remember the dress or take anything away from the specialness of the dress for your wedding day.

Also, the people involved likely got caught up in the moment and made on-the-spot decisions what attire to reflect in the photos or videos. I'm not sure how any further correction could be made. Hopefully this will be something that smooths over mildly. Best wishes for you.

I can understand why this would bother you - it’s your wedding dress and it’s meant to be a special, personal moment. Even if it truly was an accident, it’s still reasonable to feel uncomfortable seeing someone else photographed and posted publicly in your dress before your wedding. That said, since the boutique agreed to remove the video and your MOH didn’t do it intentionally, I’d probably treat this as a boundary-setting moment rather than something to escalate. Let your MOH know how it made you feel so it doesn’t happen again, but if she’s been supportive otherwise, this doesn’t sound worth damaging the friendship over.
