Beer, wine, soda and signature drink???

That is totally fine! It's actually becoming very trendy to do exactly that! In fact, this is what we'll be doing since we can't afford all those random liquors and our venue has a lot of stipulations on alcohol.

We are having a non hosted bar (ppl paying if they want it) but serving good wine and beer. Ive been to others like this no one was offended by it. but be carefull some venues charge a corkage fee of 15 and up per bottle. WE lucked out on ours not charging us one. Because normaly they do

This is how our wedding will be. My grandparents are actually getting a keg. My aunts are making jello shooters and I have 2 signature drinks I plan on making. I don't really care what people think.....If My FH and I like it then that's ALL that matters.

My FH and I picked a venue in which we have to provide our own alcohol which saves us money--but also makes us liable for anything that *could* happen to any guests. Soooo, I'm probably going to get wedding insurance in order to cover our booties. Anyway, we're not going to do champagne since most people don't like it anyway and we're planning on getting Trader Joe's $2.50 wine and possibly some beer. BUT, what we're really excited about is doing signature drinks--we'll do one pink one and one green one since our colors are pink and green. AND, I think that one will be alcoholic and the other will be non-alcoholic.

I guess as long as it's not a "cash bar" you aren't going to really disappoint anyone. People still think that a cash bar is in very poor taste... I don't necessarily agree. However, if you really can't afford alcohol, a friend gave me the advice of either paying for the alcohol and budgeting out for it or just not having alcohol at all...

Oh it's fine! Even if you just had bottled beer and red/white wine. People should be happy.

We are having a nearly-dry wedding [lots of non-alcoholic beverages and champagne,] so you can do whatever works for your budget. But beer, wine soda and signature drink has been pretty standard at the events I've been too. People can drink if they want, but its a lot more reasonable price.

What's the pink signature drink? I'd like one for my pink wedding.

Im curious too what your pink and green signature drinks are? Those are my colors as well. Im looking for ideas but don't want ones that contain alot of ingredients..

At ours we are having Wine, Beer, spiked Punch, Iced tea, bottled water, regular punch, and champaine for the toast..

P.S. Remember!! if you are doing Impoted beers you WILL NEED bottle openers...

We are just doing beer, wine, champagne, and soft drinks. I think doing an open bar at all is appreciated by your guests.

We're supplying champagne along with our non-alcoholic drinks, but if anyone wants other alcohol, we're having a cash bar. Some people think they're tacky, but we didn't care. We can't afford to buy all the alcohol, but we know that some people will want it before getting on the dance floor. We made sure it will be on the invitations so that people will know to bring some cash with them if they want to have alcohol.

Gosh, it would be nice if I could find where I put the slip of paper with the 2 drinks on them... I ripped it out of a magazine my gramma had with her when she and my grandpa were in town for my graduation and in the midst of graduation and whatnot, I put it somewhere that WASN'T with all my wedding stuff and now I can't find it. I'm going to search for it today and see if I can come up with it. Sorry ladies!!

We're doing the same thing as you Kris, beer wine and soda along with one signature drink. It's saving us alot of money not having a full bar!
