Bed Bath and Beyond - In Store vs Online

kimbo, on March 12, 2017 at 8:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 27

Thinking of creating a registry at Bed Bath and Beyond. Wondering if there is any benefit to going to the store and registering there vs creating a registry solely online. We've already taken time to walk through the store to get an idea of products we like. Is there any benefit to going back to register there vs online with the list we created in our heads? Thanks in advance!!

I think the benefit is getting to touch/hold stuff in your hands as your deciding which item you want to put on your registry. Also, you can ask the sales people questions about the products.

We registered in the store and our sales associate was pretty hands off, which we appreciated. It was great to have her available for any questions we had. The registry is super easy to edit online after the fact. I would go with your FI and then make additions/deletions online.

I agree with Sarah it's better to be able to see a product and touch it, however of course be aware they carry a lot more online then in store

If you were already there and took notes then no. The things you want to be in person for are things like towels to feel them or bed sheets. If you already know what you want; just do it online. There's no difference! & you don't have to deal with the sales person pressuring you to put stuff on your registry.

I looked around and took some pics once there just to get an idea and made the majority of the registry online. My FH and I were out running errands and we wanted to go in and just add a few things and I made the mistake of asking for a scanner. We had to sit at the desk and hear about all their products for a while, give a bunch of info, got a few catalogues and she told us she would walk through with us and show us things. We told her it's okay - we just wanted to add a few quick things and we're good on our own. But she kept following us around and checking on us like every 5 minutes it was stressing me out lol. I definitely preferred just doing it online, but if you like the guidance and aren't annoyed by that stuff it might be nice? Lol. I did really like registering in person at Target though - they just handed me the scanner and let us go crazy.

We are registered at bed bath and beyond, walmart, and target. Bed bath and beyond was the only one that had someone sit down with us and go through the benefits of some dinnerware over others. After we registered for dinner wear that person went around the store with us and recommended certain products. Sometimes it was nice to have that person and other times it felt like they were pushing us to register for things that I would not want my guests to spend that much money on, like a $400 vacuum. We looked at towels there too but I want bath sheets since my fiance is a big guy and they were over $40 each at bed bath and beyond so I said we'd register for them somewhere else. I got a call from them the next day telling me that I forgot to register for towels. Going was nice since we were able to see the products but online would be nice too since you wouldn't have someone following you around the store.

We started adding things to our registry in the store, but I have been just adding things online when I think of something. To me, it's easier to just go in the store and look around and take notes of what we want and add them online later. It was annoying having the salespeople constantly enthusiastically congratulate us and try to sell us fine china, silverware, and KitchenAid mixers; all of which we did not want.

Had we not gone in to do ours I wouldn't have ended up with half the stuff we have on it. Things look different in person and when it comes to bedding you want to feel it. It was also good to be able to ask questions.

I started ours online and we also added some items in store because I wanted to see and touch some things. However, I used the BBB app on my phone to scan things to the registry onsite as I had no need of an associate.

Both. We went to the store twice and probably will go again but it's also easy to browse online and add stuff you didn't think about. The registry process has been overwhelming for us. There are so many things you can add! We keep adding stuff online every few days

Make sure to at least look at a majority of your items in person before registering. My friend did it all online and I bought her all of the bathroom accessories she registered for. They were really really heavy marble. The trash can was super heavy. She had no idea they were like that in real life.

I think that it would be a good idea to do both. Sometimes certain items are only available to be purchased online.

It's best to see the product for yourself. I added some items online to my registry and ended up removing them when I saw them in person because it didn't look like what I saw online. Also, you can set it up and book an appt with a consultant that can give you suggestions as to which products are highly purchased or not good quality.

We went and registered in store and it was great. We had a registry specialist walk us through areas and kind of go over the typical things people put on their registry. She actually hit on a few things we totally forgot about.

I did both. We wanted to see some things in person, like dinnerware and silverware. But I also liked adding stuff online as I thought about it.

The only drawback I have found about online is if someone goes in store to purchase a gift, they won't have a lot of options if you did most of your registering online.

I liked being able to actually feel the different things in my hands in the store, but the sales person helping us from the registry desk was really annoying. They kind of pressure you to register for the most expensive things even if you don't think it's necessary, so that would be a good reason to do it online. Overall though, I think there are a lot of people who will shop on store for your gifts, and not all the items online are in stores, so it might be better to register in the store. You can always change things later online if you want.

We went to register in person looking around and registered there and just edited online later as we thought of new things or wanted to take things off. You can do both.
