Beauty question - how far in advance to get nails done

I'm getting mine done the day before

I did mine 2 days before.

I got mine done 2 days before.

I plan on getting a gel manicure 2 days before!

I also went 2 days before. I got the shellack (I think that's what it's called) and had no issues with chipping or anything.

2 days away. No longer

The day before? The night before? The morning of? It really doesn't matter, but I wouldn't have them done more than 2 days before in case you get a chip.

I am getting it done on Wednesday for Saturday wedding. I will be getting gel manicure which is a lot more durable!

Same as @Bailey - scheduling spray tan for Thursday so getting nails done Wednesday night for a Saturday wedding.

For regular polish, the day before. For gel or shellac, I'd say no more than 4 days.

Not only do you want to avoid chips, but you also want to avoid having obvious nail growth.

My FH and I have an appointment for mani & pedi together the day before.

I'm doing a couple of tests on my pointer and middle fingers since those get beat up the most during my next few regular appointments (I want to use gold foil tape, but it sometimes doesn't stick well - doing the tests as accent nails to avoid paying too much more than usual). This week I'm trying with a normal manicure and seeing how long it lasts, then at my next appointment I'll try with gel. If neither works we'll just do the gold strip with polish. I wanted to do it on Thursday for a Sat wedding, but I'll be doing it on Wed since I won't be in the city and I really like my regular technician.

Got mine done Wednesday before our Saturday wedding. It was the only day I had free to do it.

With my previous acrylic nail experience with prom, i would say a day or two before. Mainly because I noticed that things were harder to do, and i had to relearn how to do some things with my acrylic nails. Like put in and take out my contacts. That was a fun relearning experience.

I would also just like to mention that nails are not something I normally get done - so this may just be a tomboy going girly for special occasion issue.... but I wanted to let you know of my struggles. ^-^
