Beach Wedding-Walkway Ideas

ashley, on July 25, 2016 at 4:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

Okay ladies I REALLY need some help here.

My ceremony is on the beach and I want to wear my wedges. I cannot come up with a viable option for the walk way. I thought I figured it out with a wooden fence, and flipping it upside down, but the township might take that as construction and shut me down. I can't just do a runner, b/c i'll still have problems with walking in heels. I need something sturdy. Anyone have any other cheap suggestions. Its driving me nuts!

Anything other than a flat shoe on the beach will be tough - even if you have a walkway. You'd have to build some sort of elevated platform so that it didn't sink into the sand or move when you were walking down it.

Barefoot (or sandals as Beachy said) > face planting on the beach, in a wedding dress!

A lot of our beach brides wear toe strap things instead of just barefoot to dress it up! If you google "beach wedding shoes" and click images you will get an idea of what I am talking about.

Part of the experience of a beach wedding is getting your toes in the sand! Embrace natures pedicure! Smiley smile

Barefoot is probably best. Wearing wedges without a walkway would worry me. It's so easy to twist an ankle like that

Save your heels for your reception! Go barefoot on the beach or use barefoot sandals! I loved my barefoot sandals.

I'm having a beach ceremony as well and I'm just getting those barefoot sandals. I'm not really into heels so it don't bother me one bit to not have to spend money on expensive shoes to wear one night.....

Ashley, I've officiated over 1,400 beach weddings. Go barefoot, wear barefoot sandals, or wear flip-flops.

One of our public beaches has a metal grid walkway, but that's an expense you don't want.

Runners don't work. I've seen actual carpet runners, but they look rather silly on the beach.

I think you could wear wedges and walk in the sand...if you're just looking to add some height instead of being barefoot! I'm getting married on the beach and I'm SO happy I get to be shoeless Smiley smile
