Beach Wedding Heels

Christina, on January 26, 2019 at 4:02 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Looking for some shoe advice. Our ceremony is on sand and reception is on grass but I CANNOT fathom wearing sandals, flats, or going barefoot in the fanciest (and most expensive) dress I will ever wear. I have to have some lift, preferably of the 3+ in variety, in order to feel put together but also know I need to minizmize my chances of rolling an ankle (in which case, the show will go on my friends). I initially thought a wedge would do the trick but I have a friend who recently got married on the beach and insists that a block heel is the way to go. So what do you think, block heel or wedge? Which would be the sturdier/safer pick?

There is this one design called "Solemates" that is basically a clear cover for your heels with a flat bottom to keep them from digging into the ground no matter what the terrain is like! It basically creates the surface of a block heel while keeping the original look. They are complete life savers. They allow you to keep the look you want while also staying practical for your surroundings. In addition, the design is so clever that they blend in and don't take anything away from your look. This should at least help with the reception (grass) portion of the night. Hope this helps!!!

When you say you don't want to go barefoot, did you consider beach foot jewelry? I was a bridesmaid at a beach wedding and thought these were perfect for the bride and bridesmaids!

I bought foot jewelry for my beach wedding, but I am pretty tall so no need for the extra boost! I would go for a wedge shoe that way you get the lift and you won't sink down as much.

I think either will be good. My best friend wore wedges at her beach wedding and felt secure.

Christina, which did you end up going with? I'm having the same conundrum!
