Beach Wedding Ceremony

Stephanie, on May 18, 2017 at 10:35 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

I'm having a beach ceremony in Cape May, NJ, June 16, 2018. My one concern is how will the music be played. Should I buy or rent a small PA system? If anyone here has had a beach wedding any help in welcome.

Thanks!

Who is doing your music? If you have a DJ, they should provide the music and a mic for the officiant. If not, I would rent one, butt make sure it has a mic and a wind guard.

That's the thing we've been trying to decide. Since our wedding is so small our planner recommended we just rent speakers for the reception but we haven't figured out if we should do the same for the reception. I considered having somebody play the music but i don't think they could execute the song I like well if I did that.

My brother got married on rehoboth beach in 2007. They did not have any music during the ceremony. Honestly, I didn't mind too much. I liked being able to hear the waves of the ocean.

Were you able to hear the officiant clearly without a mic?

I went through the exact same thing! I hired an acoustic guitar player for the ceremony, then we are doing a spotify prime play list for the reception, as we are not having dancing. I will walk down the aisle to an acoustic version of the song I wanted, and literally nothing else made sense. Do you really want to take the chance of someone messing up the music during the ceremony?

    Hi Heather,

Yeah my biggest concern is having someone mess up the music. We're also doing a playlist at the reception since it's so small. I should look into an acoustic version of the song. It will be different but I'm sure it can still be nice.

I'm having a beach ceremony. Our dj had a separate set up for this along with mics (the beach is loud). Definitely talk to your dj about it!

Our DJ has a portable wireless Bluetooth speaker and wireless microphones for the ceremony that is outdoors, and his setup will be indoors. Check with a DJ it would be worth it for stuff like that that some people forget about.
