Bathroom Baskets and Bride's Emergency Kit

Mrs R (formerly "Nicole A."), on August 30, 2010 at 4:49 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

It's been suggested I provide emergency kits for the bathrooms at my venue. Any ideas what are supposed to go in there besides deodorant, safety pins, bobby pins, stain remover, and bandaids? Also, what should I include in my emergency kit - besides sewing kit, bandaids, stain remover?

And lotion, I just used the stuff in the bathrooms for my emergency kit, minus the deodorant I put my own in a bag along with gum, a copy of our thank you speech and my make up for touch ups.

Mrs. Schmidt - the idea of a copy of the thank you speech is a good one... I'll mention it to FS - he's doing the speech - I'm not much of a public speaker! (Can't wait to see how I do at the alter!! lol)

For my clients, I put tissue packs, gum, feminine products, deodorant, hair spray, cough drops, wet wipes, thank you note from bride and groom, lotion, bandaids, advil and mouthwash. For the guys restroom -its the same minus the femine products. Just stock up on travel-size items from your local Target.

In our bathroom baskets we had: spray deo, tums, advil, tylenol, immodium, pads/tampons (girls), hair spray, lotion, bandaids, triple antibiotic cream, wisps and breath mints. In my emergency kit I had nail polish (the one I wore obviously), hair pins, safety pins, needle and thread (white and black), wisps, mouth wash, advil, deodorant, make up, compact mirror, qtips, tums.

All great suggestions for the bathroom baskets. You can also spruce up the bathrooms with scented candles (if allowed) or air freshener (like Renuzit) and scented liquid hand soap.

For the guys, you can also include some body spray (like Tag).

You could put mints & gum, hairspray & bobby pins, body spray or perfume, clear nail polish for nylons, etc. go to the dollar store and go nuts, it shouldn't cost more than $20! I was going to do a box like that but I just have too much stuff to haul to my DW as it is. We're putting Off wipes in the bathrooms tho in case it's buggy because dinner is on a porch, so it's outside.

Off wipes are a good idea - my ceremony and cocktail hours are outside so that might be handy for those "germaphobes"...
