Bars ideas

Molly, on March 31, 2019 at 5:57 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 14
Has anyone with a large wedding had like a booze bath? We will have close to 300 people and dont know how to go about managing having a booze bath or if we should spend the extra money to have a caterers that has bar service.

Any opinions would be very much appreciated!

I've seen where some people have used water troughs and filled them with ice and put drinks in there! I think it's a great idea but dont know how to estimate how much to buy and how to monitor ice and if it needs refilled with a guest list of about 300.

I have an open with my wedding. It came with my package that I have with my venue. Check with your venue to see what package they have when you decide to book your venue and that includes your food and etc. check around and see who has the best package for you and then decide.

O yup ok I get it we have used a alcohol calculator to kind of guesstimate how much we need as we are just doing beer and wine coolers. We are using an actual clawfoot bathtub lol, and galvanized stock tanks, we have ordered pallets of beer to get the best pricing

Have you been to a wedding that has done this? I think if I do it this way, i would be able to save a decent amount of money when comparing with caterers that have a bar included.

What is a bar bath? Is it s tub with alcohol poured in it and you dip your cup into it? I’ve never heard of it

Adding the salt is a great idea! That was my biggest concern is just having to constantly replenish ice. Thanks for that!

Its having a big container, often like a water trough, filled with ice and then bottles/cans in it to let people take as they want.

My friends did this, they only had about 100 people though. I think if you designate someone to just check on the ice throughout the night, maid of honor, best man, parent, someone you trust not to be too wasted to remember, it should be fine.

Pinterest has a lot of charts on how much beer, wine and liquor to have based on per person. If you're worried about cost your best bet is probably kegs for that amount of people, but maybe you could get some special cases for the bath.

You are sure your venue allows this? Even if the venue allows you to bring your own alcohol in, the venue does not require that licensed bar staff oversee and serve the alcohol?

Do you mean a big tub of jungle juice type drink or having the troughs like a big cooler?

I was going to say this. The liability issues are massive without licensed bar staff.

    HI Molly Smiley smile

Did you and your FS decide what to do about the booze bath? Will you go ahead and have one? Or a caterer with bar service?
