Barn Venue Receptions Out of Style?

Lynn, on June 3, 2019 at 12:33 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 14
I'm in Texas. Are barn venues going out of style? It seems like they've been "in" for so long that I'm worried it's starting to be a "tired" look??

Overall, weddings have been trending less rustic & boho, more classic & glam. But who cares? It’s YOUR day! Have the style that fits you both and you’ll want to see in your wedding photos. 😍

You want a wedding where you can look back and say “yes! That was totally us and I don’t regret it at all.” Not “ugh, I wish didn’t go with the current trend because it’s not what I really wanted.” If being you means rustic, that’s all there is to it!

I live in the south and I don't think they'll ever go "out" here. Do cow boots ever go out?

IDK if they’re “out” but maybe you’re feeling that way because they’re done so often. If it’s what you want, then go for it. Otherwise go for what’s truly your style. FH and I selected a venue that isn’t a traditional “wedding venue” and it has a unique style/decor/vibe. FH and I love it! And when I showed pics of the venue to a friend, she said “OMG! That is SOOO you two” (she’s right and I loved that it was her response). Our guests will get to experience something different instead of what’s seen on the pages of every wedding magazine or website.

I firmly believe that you should do what suits you, not what's trending. That being said, I don't think that barn weddings are "out," but I think people are finding other ways to work with them besides sunflowers, lace, and burlap.

Go with what fits you and makes you happy - it doesn't matter if it's "in" or "out" Smiley smile

Our wedding is in a barn venue and I have never regretted our decision. It's both of our styles and I knew when he proposed I wanted rustic theme all the way. Go for it if it's something you really want.

If you want a barn wedding it doesn’t matter if they are in or out or over done. It’s your day so choose something you and your Future spouse want that compliments your style. My FH wanted a tent wedding outside but being in Florida where thunderstorms happen year round I said no. So we compromised and choose a barn. It’s a gorgeous venue and I could careless what anyone else thinks.

Our venue has a barn and it's also a winery. It's a two for one! I think if you want it at a barn, have it there! It's your day and only your and FH opinions matter!

If a barn is what you want, go for the barn! If the guests truly love you, they won't mind the venue (as long as you host them well!) Smiley smile

Screw out of fashion! It's a celebration of your love in a place that makes you happy Smiley smile (And for the record, I don't think barns will *ever* go out... they're a timeless venue choice!)

I feel like barn weddings will never go out of style in Texas. But if that's what you want, go for it!

I don't think it's out of style at all! Here in PA I couldn't even get a classic barn venue that we originally sought because everybody and their sister decided a barn wedding was the "in" thing even if it wasn't their style at all. Definitely annoying. I would do what suits your style most, not what is trendy, as someone else mentioned. I think the whole lace and burlap is definitely a beaten horse so I don't like that style of decor for sure lol.

I am in PA and honestly they seem to be getting more popular!

Mine is at a barn venue and I am so freakin' excited for it! I love the rustic look.

Even if it was out of style....i have never been the type to care what anyone thinks and I do what makes me happy!
