Has anyone had a barefoot wedding in a church or is that just too weird?

Yeah I was at a wedding once where the entire bridal party including the men were all barefoot. It was gross. Wear tennis shoes.

I guess I don't see how going barefoot would look better than wearing athletic sneakers. I'd wear your comfy shoes and have a dress long enough that you don't really see them.

I'm assuming that the problem with flats is that the construction and not so much the soles.

Have you considered even actual ballet slippers? Not ballet flats or pointe shoes, but the actual slippers, with the suede split sole and soft leather uppers? I ask because these would conform to your foot and feel very similar to being barefoot, but still protect your feet from the floor. You can also get them in a myriad of colors including metallics, so you have options there, too.

There are also barefoot dance shoes that help provide some protection to the sole but give the look and feel of being barefoot. There are WAY more options than just athletic shoes or nothing.
