Bar packages??

Kaitlyn, on June 27, 2017 at 7:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 59

FH and I cannot come to an agreement on our bar package. Neither of us drinks much. Our families have varying opinions. We're planning on having 200 guests (ages mid 20s-late 60s).

Which of these bar packages would you choose with a fair amount of drinkers?

(Most of the discussion is whether it's worth putting the other $400 into our house fund or if it's worth splurging for our guests since we've saved in other areas and are fairly under budget)

Those are some very, very reasonable prices! Personally, I think either would be fine....

Omg I'm jealous of your bar prices. Ours are 25 pp got basic open bar and 32 for premium. Which is very reasonable. But yours is awesome!

Besides the lack of Bacardi, I think the first option works just fine. My vote is to save the money!

Also jealous of your bar prices! At that difference I would do premium, but either is a totally acceptable route!

Personally I went with the inexpensive option but also our package was much pricier than your prices. There is a bar separate from our event that guests could buy top shelf if they really wanted but I think the other options are just fine! My fiancé and I kind of know what everyone drinks anyway and we thought the package suited most people's usual drink.

Wow, those are good prices even if you go with the premium package.

The cost difference is practically nothing, so I would definitely go premium! If it was a $20 difference per person instead of $2, then it might be worth sticking with the budget option.

If you are going for being a responsible adult, put it towards the house. It you care about having a slightly classier wedding, do the premium bar. Honestly I think people will be happy there is an open bar period, so I think you could go for saving the $400. Also, congrats on keeping under budget!

The select options are all fine. Unless your guests have discerning tastes, I'd choose that one. If you're going to splurge somewhere though, this is a nice place to do it!

I prefer the brands in the premium package but I would not turn my nose up at the select brands!

Lol omg choose either. I'm paying almost $40 pp for a premium 4 hour bar w/wine service for dinner. In all seriousness though, the better package is definitely preferable, however if I'm a guest and the alcohol is included, it really wouldn't matter to me

Are you sure that isn't the hourly rate? That's the price of one cocktail.

Ours' was a package, but I know my sister paid over $52 p.p. - including tax and service charge - for 4 hours of top-shelf open bar.

    Am I reading this wrong?

Your liquor package is $8 per person?

That is ridiculously cheap. I think I'm misunderstanding something.

Even with the select your wedding would still be classy. What are the beer options? Do those change with the package. I would go with the package that has domestics and imported beer

It really doesn't matter but the basic package is fine. Booze is booze and if it's free no one will complain

Whoa! Those prices are cheap! I'm paying $35 per person, per hour for beer and wine only

I think the basic package is fine. I personally would put the extra money into the house fund. Your guests are getting free liquor so I don't think they'll really care
