bad photographer

We went to the small court and it was ONLY about the money. It ruled for us...but she doesn't care to pay it back. I will have get second opinion. thanks!

I would be calling the local news stations for the investigation reporters. This is crazy and beyond bad business. Call the BBB also. I really hope she did not lose your pictures and in fact does the right thing. She has no right to threaten you with legal action because she did not do her job and is in violation of a court order. You have been more than patient with her. Our photographer was supposed to post teasers on facebook, and did not. Come to find out her father in law (husband is also a photographer at our wedding) died a few days after our wedding.. Life happened to her, just like this person (if her story is true), but I had my pictures in a reasonable amount of time.

Jarka, you need legal help. She is violation now, if I understand this, of a court order.

Small claim is only about money. so she was wrong and judge told her to give us money back. He asked her why she is not delivering the photos but she had milion of reasons. so he said...money is yours ( ours). And that's it. Now we have to hire collection agency to get the money out of her. But agencies are not dealing with such a small claim...its hard to find anybody who will do it for us. So we have no money and no pictures. She keeps saying we will get them, but I don't believe her anymore.

So I did a simple google search and it looks like her studio burnt down around the time of your wedding. I have a few thoughts on this, one is that maybe the pictures were lost in the fire but she hasn't admitted that (doubt that though, it would be stupid not to simply say they were burnt in the fire). Two, if she is still continuing to do business she is probably trying to stay caught up on all of those photos and your (and the other couples that haven't been done) keep getting pushed to the back of the list.

It is SO ridiculous of her to say she doesn't owe you the pictures!!! I could feel my face turn red when I read that line of her email! Man I can't believe she has the nerve to tell you she blocked your email. You, a paying customer, and it's a year out from your wedding and hasn't received pictures.

I am far, far from a sue happy person, but I would be seeking serious legal action and making something happen. She can't get away with not giving you your pictures. Does she realize she is breaking contract since these pictures were promised 4-6 weeks after the date they were taken?

The fire was the night before our wedding. So our pics should be ok. Only one girl ( what i know and which doesnt have the pics) had a wedding before us in june and before the fire. US and rest of the girls we had weddings after the fire. She was sharing studio with multiple people. I tell you I can't even read the emails from her.

After reading her emails to you I have to say that I think you're not 100% innocent in this and how you handled it. That does not excuse her behavior at all and it being a year out from your wedding with nothing is totally unacceptable... but you catch more flies with honey or however that saying goes. Its like when people yell at the person taking your order at a restaurant... the person in charge of your food, and your fate in some small ways. You probably could have handled your end a lot better in the beginning of the correspondence. I'm interested in seeing what your emails to her said, especially her saying she had to block you and accusing you of harassment.

I did a little bit more looking into it and a bunch of her business pages that have reviews are shutting down/unavailable. I wouldn't take this as a great sign. I really do hope for the best for y'all (you and your H, along with all of the other people waiting on their pictures). I can't imagine what y'all are feeling!

I'm sure you can't sue for your wedding. At this point it's bending at windmills for you. Get the money you paid for out of this and call it done.

Man just spent 15 -20 minutes reading through this and it totally sounds like she could be on a dr phill episode or something. All I can say is I am so sorry this is happening to you. My suggestion, although def not the same is to maybe if you still have your wedding dress, you and your husband could recreate some shots together. If you share your story maybe someone would donate some florals, hair and makeup?

We used the same photographer. Our wedding was August 6, 2016. It has been a huge struggle trying to get our pictures and we still haven't. I know of at least 7 others who this photographer has hustled. She has been taken to court but the judge can't compel her to give us the pictures, he can only fine her which she will never pay.

This is like watching a car wreck. I don't want to look but I can't stop reading. This woman is giving you some incredibly personal information considering only have a professional relationship with you

She's an embarrassment to our industry, and is full of shit with her excuses. If you can't get the job done, outsource post work or don't take the job....But it's good communication has resumed in some fashion.

Josh and I are colleagues on a wedding vendor community, I can tell you that he wasn't justifying her actions, but was giving a different perspective....good cop if you will. Where, with people who can't get shit done, I'm bad cop. lol.
