Bad Luck & Superstitions

I heard it is GOOD luck to have rain on your wedding day, ALSO (this just sounds absurd to me) I have heard it is GOOD luck if the ring is dropped... WEIRD! (however FMIL`s ringbearer did drop the ring, and her & FFIL have been married 36 years!!

I've heard similar ones through the years. However, I don't believe in any of them. I'm also not doing the whole something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue thing. Everything will be new because it's my wedding day and I want part of the specialness to include getting all new stuff. We're going away from a lot of the traditional stuff in general..no garter or bouquet tosses, no cake cutting, etc.

Oh, goodness, I've heard all sorts of things. Like it's good luck to get married while the minute hand is going up, bad luck if it's going down. Bad luck if someone else wears your engagement ring (they will take your man). Bad luck if he sees the dress, bad luck this, bad luck that. I think it's all bull. Fh and I are spending the night with each other before the wedding (And we live with each other -more bad luck), he's seen my dress, we'll see each other before going down the aisle. We aren't very superstitious, though, and since superstitions only work if you believe in them, no harm no foul.

I am still doing the something old something blue bc I think its cute and fun but I dont believe in any superstitions. I do believe that some people can have bad luck though, but I dont think anyone does anything to get it.

Ana--Can I drop the rings on purpose? lol I am not having a ring bearer. I am one of those people who has bad luck without doing anything to get it, and with my luck, if I had a ring bearer he would lose my rings. lol I am actually really nervous about anyone else holding on to our rings. We might hold on to them instead of the Best Man and MOH.

Wowjunkie--I have heard a similar one about the clock but I heard it the other way. My priest wouldnt let us have the wedding at any other time except starting at something-thirty. lol

Taryn- I trust my MOH and the Best man very much, BUT I am with you on that one!! I kinda don`t want them having the rings..just in case Hope that doesnt sound too selfish!

I trust my MOH lol Not sure about the best man yet. But anything can happen and atleast if I am the one that does something to them then I can only be mad at myself lol I am like that tho I know they have a word for it I have to do everything myself When I lived at home we had a short period where I had to share my room with my little sister. And my other sister had to share her room with the other little sister. When it was time to clean our rooms I would never let the sister sharing with me clean the room. I had to do it myself. And my mom would get so mad at me bc the other little sister had to clean her room.
