Bad decorations, beautiful venue

Jessica, on December 31, 2019 at 2:55 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7
Hello!
So my fiancé and I are getting married and we found the perfect venue, but it came with a bit of a twist. The outside areas where we intend on having a ceremony and reception are drop dead gorgeous with little to no issue. However, we do you have an issue with the interior.

Part of the interior are great with beautiful Stainglass window and a very lovely kind of atmosphere. But the biggest issue is the fact that they have lots of deer heads and an antler chandelier and a ton of American flags. While, these decorations aren’t necessarily bad they clash with our theme and our ideas since our ideas kind of centered on the night sky, galaxy, and other celestial type of things. So now I’m trying to figure out what on earth to do for the decoration.
Does anyone have any suggestions about how to cover up the deer heads or hideaway some of the less than ideal decorations?

Would an outdoor reception be an option with a tent - it may fit your theme better?

You could adjust your theme to a "night in the enchanted forest"? How does the venue feel about storing the decor during your wedding? Not sure about the chandelier but maybe the flags could sent to the cleaners during your wedding?

I agree with Dierdra about doing everything outside. It fits your theme anyway and avoids all the decor issues. If you expect that people will need to go inside to use the bathroom, etc. you may be able to curtain off a direct path or ask the venue to dim the lights to hide the decor. If you are set on an inside reception and you are set on this theme, I would suggest looking around for other venues that might fit better.

Since there is space to have the reception outside, that's where I would have it. Or if the decorations are removable would the venue be willing to store the decorations somewhere else temporarily?

If you're allowed to move things and promise to put them back, I'd move as much as I could. If not, or if they charge a fee to move it themselves (some places will charge you if YOU move their decor because they could claim you 'broke' something), then it's worth asking about. This might be smart anyway because they may not allow you to touch certain things or decorate over them.

If you are allowed to, you could always add some wreaths to the deer heads to give them that magic forest look, like Alycia said! Or hang some stars from their antlers? There are like... nearly no examples of this online LOL - get creative! Smiley heart

Yeah, I think we are having most of it outside but there was a disagreement with the interior if we use it for part. Like right now we are considering the inside just for food and maybe cake cause it has a beautiful pavilion.
