Backyard Wedding Cups

Hey everyone! My wedding will be in Maui on a lawn area near the ocean. Everything is BYO, basically like a backyard wedding. We will have beer and wine only for our bar, but have to bring in the drinkwear ourselves. I was thinking of doing mason jars with chalk pens for everyone to decorate so they can keep track of their glasses and cardboard straws for those who don't like drinking out of mason jars. I know that mason jars are kind of overdone at this point, but they are just so darn durable and cheap. I'm worried about using thin glasswear that will break and I definitely don't want to use plastic solo cups. Any thoughts?

Check out dollar tree. You can purchase fancy plastic glasses that look like the real thing.

I really don't want to create plastic waste. We also don't have a dollar tree or anything of the sort on Maui. Most things we have to order online although a lot of times the shipping is really high. I was considering ordering some silicone cups, but that might get expensive and we'd still have the issue of personalizing the cups.

I think mason jars and chalk pens is a good idea. Single-use plastic is such a big problem.
