Backyard wedding backup plan ??

Michele, on June 3, 2017 at 2:53 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 2

Hi friends!

We are planning an outdoor backyard wedding with the reception being held under a tent. It's summer in Indiana and nobody knows what kind of weather we will get. I'm nervous about heat and rain. I plan on getting fans and some neat tent air conditioners... but idk what to do about rain!

Is having the ceremony under the tent a good enough plan B?

What has everyone else done?

Yes, Michele, that sounds fine as long as there are detachable sides, as Ella mentioned. Also the air conditioner will be great. You can have the ceremony inside the tent too if need be. Other things to consider are power generators, bathrooms, and lighting.

We originally planned for an outdoor but the heat made us change our minds so we moved it indoors. I would say that you may want to get a back up generator in case something happens with the fans and air conditioners. Only other real option is to have a back up that puts you inside an actual building.
