Soo, there are six of us heading out next weekend for a weekend away for my bachelorette party. I've contributed to the hotel cost and everyone that I mention that to gives me grief about why my bridal party is asking me to pay. I've contributed to the hotel cost and everyone that I mention that to gives me grief about why my bridal party is asking me to pay. No one technically asked me to pay but no one said they would pay for me. Is this not normal? I'm not upset about helping to pay i'm just a bit curious now what the norm is. Thanks!

Same as PPs, if it's a night out on the town, the bride shouldn't pay for anything. If it's a destination or weekend thing, I don't think it's unreasonable for the bride to pay for her own accomodations. I did.

We are doing a weekend trip and I will pay. Their other expenses to be in my wedding are enough and they are already throwing me a shower

The OP's party is over by now but on the theme of who pays.

If it is a standard party in which the girls leave the house go out and do something and come back home the same night the bride shouldn't pay.

If you are asking people to travel out of town and spend 2-3 nights in another city, involving travel and lodgings than the bride to be should then cover her own costs. The guests may treat her to a few things while on site but the bride should no longer expect others to flip the bill for such high costs.
