Bachelorette ideas - having a destination wedding and unsure of what to do for bachelorette.

Amy, on September 27, 2021 at 10:23 AM Posted in Parties and Events 2 9
Hi! I am having a destination wedding so I wanted to keep my bachelorette more local (I live in Westchester County NY) in order to avoid making my family and friends who are attending both spend so much money on travel and I was wondering what other brides who are in my situation are doing? My bridal party keeps asking me what I want to do and I’m so lost- please help!

Have you collected everyone's personal budgets? This will be a big factor in what is planned, or not planned in some cases.

No I didn’t do that yet but that’s a good idea for a jumping off point!

Have you considered a fun night out? Bach parties don’t have to be a whole weekend or packed with events. How about making a few reservations and bar hopping?

I was in this situation! My girls voted to arrive at our destination wedding a few days early and we had my bach the Thursday before my Saturday morning. It was such a blast!

I just did this! My wedding is in Nov in Miami and I had my bach in cape may, NJ (2 hour drive from home). Maybe try looking up some destinatons driving distance from you and plan a little weekend like long island and do the wineries there, Newport Rhode Island is super cute too!

I kept it simple & close by for my ladies. I live 3 hours away from the venue & my bridesmaids. We made candles & had a nice dinner after.
Like others have said, you don’t have to make a whole weekend out of it.

If you are in Westchester County, what about a weekend /night out in Manhattan (there so many things you could do) or wine tasting /beach house on Long Island or CT (depending on the time of the year).

Who is hosting the bachelorette? It's up to them to collect budgets etc. If you make clear that you don't expect another travel bachelorette I think that would be considerate of you. Have fun whatever happens!
