My venue charges hourly but we didn't go the all inclusive route. That's totally up to you. Our wedding and reception will be a total of 4 hours

I can't speak for the average per say, as I'm sure it can vary, but our ceremony starts at 4:30 and our reception ends at 10:30. Ours was a wedding package. The ones that charged hourly made me a bit nervous.

Our ceremony is at 4 and we think our reception will end around 11. This includes about a 30 minute window of people traveling from ceremony site to the reception.

They're only averages - but "average" wedding ceremony length is 20-30 minutes, followed by a 1 hour cocktail hour, and on average a 4 hour reception!

I was originally going to be married at 3:30 pm but that got changed because there is now a second wedding so now mine is set for 1:30. We are hosting cocktails and apps in the casual pavilion until 4pm when the venue officially opens so there wasn't a big gap to worry about. My reception will be done by 10pm.

When we reserved our wedding date at our venue, there was no hourly rate/wedding packages. They said we have the venue from 12 a.m. to 12 a.m. I think it all depends where you book to be honest.

My issue with venues that charge hourly is that setup is usually included in your rental time. So you'll likely have to rent the whole day even if your event is only 4-5 hours

Our ceremony starts at 6pm, followed by an hour for cocktails and a 4-hour reception.

No matter whether you choose a place that charges by the hour or via a set package, don't hesitate to ask for a full breakdown of every cost.

Our venue is a 12 hour block starting anytime long as it's over by midnight. I don't know if we really need that much time but it's a set price if we use it the whole time or not.

Where I work the time is 5 1/2 hours on a Saturday and 4 1/2 for Friday and Sundays. You can certainly add a hour to that too.

I think you need to keep in mind what else you will need to do at the venue besides ceremony and reception. As someone mention set-up, breakdown, first look, pictures, hair/make-up, etc. From there then you have a total number of hours you will need.
