August Wedding (postpone or not)

Lachrista, on March 31, 2020 at 4:31 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 9

Hello All

Im kind of in a tough spot. My wedding is August 9 and I'm starting to think I should postpone due to this virus. My FH says yes but I'm holding on to hope.

My August 1st ,2020 and I have been planning for 2 years and because of these virse I'm in thought spot myself too. Half of me telling me to postpone and the other half is telling me to wait it out and I have ready canceled my honeymoon. Good vibs for now. I'm thinking about doing a small chapel wedding for us and family that willing to come and join us and doing the hole big wedding part later if it comes down to it. I know what you are feeling

I would hold off on postponing. This will get better. Right now the strictest policies of no more than 10 people are only in affect till end of April. At least wait till then to make a decision. I think things will look better then.

I know this is so tuff. My bridesmaids don't even have their dresses yet. We were supposed to make a day out of it everything closed down. I was thinking of doing November if my venue has the day open.

I would also wait for another couple of weeks before you decide to postpone or not!

You better not need to postpone. My postponed wedding was rescheduled to August and I’ll be damned if I have to reschedule a 2nd time.

We did the same also. Moved from May to August, we will get married in our August date even if we can only have ten people there. I pray to god this virus stuff is settled way down by then! I’m not sure it’ll be gone 100% but holding on to hope we are in a better place by then!

I would keep your August wedding date as long as you can.. we had a May wedding and just decided today y

My brother is a doctor and he said it's about 50/50 that our August wedding will be able to happen as planned. We're not making any decisions yet, but we have come up with alternate plans* just in case, and that made me feel better.

*Not solid plans, where we talk to the venue, etc. It's just a Google doc of our thoughts.

I’m August 2nd & about half of my bridesmaids have their dress, half don’t. I understand not knowing what to do wholeheartedly. My biggest concern is postponing to a late fall date & still not being able to have it. We went out save the dates back in Jan. Right now we are just sitting in our invitations (we got them over a month ago before things got bad here). Either way we plan to make a decision by the end of May.

I hope we will be fine though Smiley smile
    Best wishes to you!
