August Brides

While the health concerns are definitely a reason to postpone our wedding set for August 8th, is anyone not concerned about the financial aspect of things? I pray businesses will re-open and everyone can carry on as normal, but I don't believe things will be back to normal so soon. My Fiance and I have been engaged 14 months now, so we've had some time to save, but among many others who are also faced with a job lay-off, we don't want to pour or savings out onto the wedding. We should see an income relief when we return back to work in June, but with August two months behind, I feel it would be smart to postpone our wedding in that sense.

Sounds like that might make sense for y’all! But before deciding you should check with your venue and vendors! Since there aren’t any government recommendations or regulations for August you might be charged cancellation fees!

Oops just reread and you said postpone! I would still check in with your vendors and venue anyways and see what they are thinking about covid-19 & august!

    Hi Krestih,

I'm sorry you're having to think about postponing your wedding on top of planning your big day. While this is definitely an uncertain time, it seems like plenty of August couples are waiting to make postponement decisions. Of course, everyone's situation is different, so it never hurts to be proactive about plan B!

I agree with the suggestion above. Reaching out to your venue to determine options may be the most helpful first step--just in case.
