August 22ND here. We are about to book our honeymoon and working on small details. Only actual vendor left to book is for chair rentals which I plan to secure soon. I’ve been pretty chill and stress free about it since I got so much done early on. I’m sure that will change soon 😊

Yes I’m DIY’ing the center pieces which isn’t as hard now that I have a rhythm going. In fact I may have extras for the ceremony space . I’m also DIY the floral arch! I did major research before embarking on this journey lol. I hope to be done by the summer no particular rush. I’m doing silk flowers except on my bouquet. I don’t have a bridal party just a bunch of flower girls so no stress there thank goodness. FH is military so he’s getting he’s guys in uniform so no boutonnières!
Lastly, I just HAD to cut down my guest list and honestly I’m kinda dreading the RSVPs I hope we get the predicted 20% less if not more. Catering alone was almost $5500 on a 60 count with a 10 count allowance. So anything more will push up our balance not to mention I cut out equipment to the bare bones!
I’m focused on a decent guest experience which can only be done with a small fun crowd! Ugh. But other than that shock of how much it costs to feed people, I’m doing ok! Smiley smile

That’s awesome! Seems you’re doing a lot of DIY — that’s how I am too. Trying to do as much on my own as I can to save money, plus I enjoy that stuff!

And oh my! That’s an expensive caterer! Does that include drinks or dessert? Or is that just your meal?We got lucky where ours is only about **** a plate!!

Wow! That’s amazing. Ours is $21-$26/plate But the labor adds up of course. I’m still navigating our way through options(maybe fewer passes d’ouvres) and no dessert or drinks to this food only. It’s kinda pricey in the DC area. Unless I’m missing something !
So glad everything is working out for you. I also enjoy DIY projects not a task at all Smiley smile

That’s amazing! Any tips for fellow DIYers? I have at least 6ish more center pieces to go and a few other smaller floral details. Then I can move to signs!

Our date is August 1st Smiley smile we pretty much have everything planned. The only things we need are FH's suit and groomsmen's attire. Then just little details such as a guestbook alternative, bridal accessories, groom's accessories, escort cards. I have to schedule my hair & makeup trials, appointments for dress alterations were made today. My only concern is our church requirements- we still have to go on a retreat and meet with our priest here and there. My FH has a lot of homework to do because he's converting to Catholicism. Other than that, I'm pretty happy we got most of the big things out of the way.

Wedding date twins!! Are you doing any DIY things? Such as flowers, centerpieces, signs, other decor? Sounds like everything is going well for you and I am glad you have a lot of big things done! Have you gotten your wedding bands yet?

We still need to do groom/groomsmen attire, schedule trials for makeup/hair, all the DIY things (which is like everything), order invites, welcome bags for guests, other misc. stationary, and a few other things.

We have our Pre Cana next weekend and then our final meeting with our priest to do our FOCCUS test and pick our readings and songs in 2.5 weeks!!

My advice is to allow more time than you think you need!! I am doing cupcakes on stands for centerpieces. I made the centerpieces from dollar tree items. I did my own faux flowers as well and it took about 4 weeks to finish them all. Start with one set of supplies to test it first. Once you figure out how to perfect it, then buy the rest of the supplies. August 2020 Brides! 1

Thank you! The filler is like a baby’s breathe type of faux flower. I also used greenery but it’s mostly in the back and underneath

August 28th for us ! I can’t wait ! I feel like it has consumed every single brain cell and I can’t sleep or focus on anything else ! Everything is booked but the Florist but I’m hoping to get a meeting with them next week to knock that out. Alls left is decor items that need to be purchased and my long list of DIYS. We decided to skip the save the dates (kinda got behind on time. In the past three months we took a week long Disney world trip, moved to a new city, both got new jobs and my fiancé is finishing her bachelors in nursing this month) so we just plan to send those invites may1st. It’s all starting to feel real!

I agree! I feel like it is all I think about..wondering what I should be doing or planning. What type of things are you doing for DIY? We didn't do save the dates either -- we felt it was a waste of money and are planning to send our invites around the middle of April Smiley smile

August 1 for us! We just need to lock in chair rentals, ice sculpture design, and order invites (Save the Dates went out).

We are getting the guy's tuxes this weekend. Our tasting is set for next month!

Are you sending invites in April because you didn’t do save the dates? I’m trying to figure out when to send mine 🧐
