I'm an 8/18/18 bride! Plus my fiancé is Jewish and 18 is a lucky number in Jewish culture. We are getting married in Lake Tahoe!

I imagine they would be booked. I inquired last summer but decided to choose a venue in Seal Beach. Just wondering! Lol

Congratulations. I'm also getting married August 18, 2018 Cheektowaga, NY. I didn't even notice the date until I met with the venue places and made the save the date.

I picked the date because my brother is in the marines. Unfortunately he will be getting deploy for 6 to 9 month. When I got engage he was suppose to get depoly in January. My fiance and I wanted a summer wedding. Which is why we choose August. My mom and I choose a Saturday because family and friends work schedule. By this time of the process, we had for dates August 4, 11, 18, or 25. We didn't want to share the date with any family or friends anniversary. So, August 11 is out due to is being my family friend 1st anniversary. August 25 is my mom and dad 30th anniversary. Which left two date the 4 and 18. We pick the 18 because I want the better chance to have my brother at my wedding. Now his deployment date keep getting push back and he might not be at my wedding.

Looking for a venue was tough due to it being a popular date. I called so many places and everything was getting book and this was back in June. But I'm happy to say I found a place and a beautiful white dress.

I will! I'm in Michigan, but the way I got this date is super funny. It was one of the ONLY dates left open at my venue for this year. How, I don't know because it's such an awesome date!

And it's getting closer, guys. 6 months in just a week and a half!

That's awesome, Kristina! Congratulations! You're so lucky!! FH and I loved the first venue we saw, but they didn't have the date available - it was booked 2+ years in advance! So, we had to look at other venues.

The date is already a fan-favorite with our guests because they love how easy it is to remember! The number 8 is huge in Chinese culture, and the number 18 is very significant to the both of us (both of our birthdays are on the 18th and our anniversary is on the 18th!). Even though we just got engaged in September, my mom was so excited when she saw that 8/18/18 fell on a Saturday, she knew we had to book the date!

Question for everyone: what is your timeline for invitations? My venue suggests 6 months, but I think that's too far ahead of time. I've read online that 6 weeks is the suggested timeframe, but I don't want to chase stragglers for weeks leading up to the wedding when we have to prepare the escort cards and seating plan.

I'm still waiting to send out save the dates, but it's not up to me, I'm still waiting for addresses so I can send them to people I don't see often.

I think I'm going to send my invites out in late May/Early June. 6 months, for me, is WAY too early. People forget in that time frame and idk, I think it adds to the excitement when you send them a bit closer.

I think we have to have our final guest count to the venue about 30 days before the wedding, so I'd need to have it by July 18th, so I think sending them out a tiny bit earlier will allow me to do the man hunt every bride has to do to get an RSVP from people who refuse to get back to you when you ask them to!

I will be an 8.18.18 bride as well. The number 18 holds significant meaning to us as well. Our dating anniversary was on the 18th and he proposed on the 18th. I'm having trouble thinking of a favor that incorporates the number 8, 18, or an infinity symbol...would anybody happen to have any ideas?

My save the dates went out Feb 1st... & I plan to send my wedding invitations out in April/May because I have guests from out of country...plus since the wedding is in Summer I want to get our invites out before people make other summer vacation plans, etc! My RSVP deadline will be in June. That way my calligrapher can write the names on my table setting mirror too!

    I'm another 8/18/18 bride!

I didn't realize that the date was so popular, but it was really hard to book a reception venue for that date! We got engaged in September and we wanted to do the wedding this summer. Neither of us our wedding savvy so we are learning a lot as we go.
