Assigned tables but not seats...how do I do escort cards?

We had assigned tables, but not assigned seats. All I did was write out escort cards directing them to their table, but didn't put names at particular seats. Everyone seemed to get the idea that they chose their own seat at the table.

I have never been to an assigned seat one. Just put the person's name on the escort card and table name/number. They then go and pick a seat at that table.

Okay! I wasn't sure if I just had a board or something...but I thought to myself, if it was me, and I looked at a board (I've seen those windows and chalkboards), and then walked 10 feet, I'd surely forget my table number! Lol.

Assigning tables but not seats is actually most common! Just indicate the table number or table name (some couples choose creative ways to "number" their tables rather than 1, 2, 3..) and then people go to the table that has a sign with that number/name and they have a seat!

Doing numbers, I couldn't think of names that weren't more than "ghost" and "witch" for my theme! Lol. Have the #'s all done though!

If you wanted to be REALLY creative you could name the tables after things that you two have been for halloween over the years then include pictures if available! haha.. that would be much more time consuming though, especially since you already have a head start on it

I saw on 4 weddings a Halloween wedding they did the table names as like black cat, spider web, and stuff. gah i will have to googles them for you!

We don't want numbers, FH says they are boring and that we are far from boring lol

I am not having assigned seats either. There will be a board with their names/table name and the ushers will assist them to their table. I am not making escort cards at all. My table names are elements used in the wedding; hydrangea, orchid, satin, crystal, pearl, organza and sweetheart (we are not having a separate sweetheart table as we want the bridal party and other family members at our table).

This will be at the table when my guests walk in, and then I'm also going to make a bigger map so they can at least have an idea of which way to walk..

I think it's adorable when tables are named instead of numbered- but I might caution to make numbers AND names if the reception is on the larger side- if you go to a big wedding it can be a little easier to figure out which direction you should head in if they're in numerical order (as a guest).

I wanted to name them, but I like the number AND name, but I've only got 118 guests, plus the wedding party and I'm trying to cut more. Love the Alice's table!

And I love the idea of costumes we've been, but Nick and I have only been together for a little over a year and a half and he doesn't dress up for Halloween and I've worked some of the past ones so I haven't always gotten to or gotten pictures of myself!

I will try to think creatively and see what I come up with, because I have them done, but I'm not sold on them! Lol.

Like Casper, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Nightmare Before Christmas, Trick or Treat, Adams Family, The Munsters, Beetlejuice?

You could name each table after a candy as well!

See, I just don't like any of the typical ones. (Black cat, ghost, witch, ninja, cauldron, potion, spellbook, test tube, beaker, mad scientist, monster, monkey/gorilla, baby, princess, candy) it just makes me think of too kidish. Probably will just stick with the numbers I already have done.
