No, we want everyone to sit where they are comfortable. With family or with friends!

I’m doing assigned tables. They can pick which seats they want themselves

Assigned tables are good and are not as restricting as assigned seats.

Neither. My friend didn't do either one at her wedding and it went fine. There were only 3 tables reserved. The sweetheart table and 2 tables for immediate family.

Will you be doing a table seating chart or escort cards to help your guests find their tables?

Assigned tables is easier! i understand assigned seats if you're doing a huge bridal party table though

That's a great point! It may be easier to assign seats for a huge bridal party!

Assigned tables. In the words of our coordinator, they're adults, they can figure out where to sit from there.

Unassigned seating! I've probably been to 20 weddings in my life (big family) and have never had an assigned seat/table. I like the flexibility it gives guests. Some guests with kids might prefer to sit on the quieter side near cake while others want to be right next to the bar and band. I don't feel like it's my place to pick when I'm not in a super fancy venue. Smiley shame

Hi Maria! I think that you know your guests better than anyone, and you should trust your gut on how you should seat them! It's nice to give your guests the freedom to move around! Smiley smile

Assigned tables! I like letting people decide where they want to sit while also having a plan!

I have a guest list of about 70 and have chosen assigned seats because it's a plated meal. We are also doing this slightly different with a mix of tables, round, square, parents king table and our sweetheart table. So there is a mix of counts, either 8 or 10; the few kids invited have a table of their own.

Wow, that's a very smart idea! That way, each guest will receive the correct meal! Will you use different place settings or identifiers to mark different meals?
