Assigned Seats or Assigned Tables?

Sam, on September 25, 2018 at 11:05 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 47

Planning where your guests will sit at your wedding reception can be really tricky! Your guests rarely fall into perfect groups of 10 for easy seating! Are you going all the way and assigning specific seats at your reception? Or, will your guests be able to choose their own seat at an assigned table?

We're having assigned tables. I figure the majority of our guests are adults so they should be able to work out seating amongst themselves.

Tables! I didn't think assigning seats was necessary.

Just assigned tables. Assigning seats seemed like an unnecessary task.

I agree, placement cards are really pretty and can complete the look of a table setting!

With the amount of divorces in my family I’m doing assigned seats. You would think they can be adults but they get very immature

I have assigned tables, we are doing tables of 8. I have some with 6, some with 7, and some with 8, and one with 5. It was easier to keep everyone in circles by 6-8 than by separating them into bigger groups. 7-8 worked out mostly because some were bringing dates and others were not. But I don't have a lot of random people just to stick somewhere.

We're assigning tables! We don't really care what chair everyone picks, but we are assigning tables to make sure bridal party and family sits closest to us, etc.

Wow, that's a nice idea! It's great that you are having smaller tables to ensure that everyone is seated with the people they know!

Assigned tables most likely. I know we won't do assigned seats but we have considered having a couple extra tables and only reserving a couple family tables.

Assigned tables. We bring in our own tables and chairs, so can pick how many people sit at each table. Assigning seating at a larger function is really unnecessary-it’s designing more for dinner parties, where you want people to socialize.
