Are you wearing underwear?

Magz1018, on October 9, 2014 at 9:30 PM

I hope this isn't too personal, but I don't know what to do... So many friends who are already married told me that they've squatted over the toilet facing the tank to pee, but what am I supposed to do about underwear? Do I not wear any? or shift them to the side? What are you ladies going to do?...

My ceremony gown has a fairly long train with lots of material. It would be a pain I think to have to go to the bathroom in that gown. However, my reception dress is light and it should be very easy to use the bathroom. So my plan is to not have to go to the bathroom until I get into that second gown and preferably when I change so that way going to the bathroom in either gown in a moot point.

Oh and yes I am wearing underwear.

I only went to the bathroom once after I got my dress on, and it was nearly the end of the night. My dress had a zipper, and honestly, I unzipped, stepped out of it and went to bathroom, then I had help getting the zipper done all the way again. It wasn't a major production.

I wore undies and just took my fit-and-flare dress all the way off when using the bathroom. It was easier and less risky.

I only peed once the entire day after putting my dress on and it was after pictures before the ceremony. So you may not even need to. But, the one time I did I just had my MOH help hold up my dress and I pulled my underwear down myself and squatted backwards. It really wasn't that challenging.

Mine's A-line, so not a big deal, I hope. But don't think I haven't considered just getting a Depends brief!

I wore sexy undies for the wedding night. I absolutely did not turn around on the toilet because the thought of my dress touching the bathroom floor totally grossed me out. I just had two bridesmaids hold my dress up when I had to pee.

I did the backwards toilet thing and I thought it was easier to slip my undies off all the way and then out them back on. No biggie.

I was so worried about having to use the bathroom in this big puffy dress. I had on a one piece body shaper under the dress. It has eye and hook in the crotch. I sat on toilet backwards. But I needed help closing the one piece body shaper.

I plan on wearing a pair of jockey slip shorts under my dress in place of spanx or underwear. That said, I plan on just taking my dress completely off to use the bathroom. There is no way I will be able to hike it up high enough even with the help of bridesmaids lol.

Just make sure you use deodorant between your thighs (if they touch like mine do!) and it will make commando a lot more comfortable! Smiley smile

I don't get it. I don't know if its because I have mastered wearing gowns or what, but I pee like normal, even with ten layers of crinoline. I just grab my gown from the back, pull it forward and ball it all up on my lap. I look ridiculous, but I've never had an issue....Plus I'm a OCD freak and I have a really hard time letting my gown touch a bathroom floor. GROSS!

I had a huge dress and I have to go when I get nervous so I had 3 trips to the bathroom with 2 BMs each time. I am NOT a fan of peeing in front of other girls but I had to get over that quick. I also didn't know how I could pee facing the wall with underwear, so I just pulled the huge skirt around to the side and my girls held it up for me. they sang silly songs so they wouldn't hear me pee. actually turned out to be fun memories from the wedding haha

I never knew this was an issue until my best friend got married last year. Her MOH helped her the first couple times but after she left, I helped her. I will always remember her facing the tank, me holding her dress, and her holding a BBQ chicken sandwich. She didn't wear underwear, but she rarely does. I plan on wearing undies and facing the tank. I'm wearing a ball gown.
