Are you getting married where you grew up / the place you consider to be your hometown? If not, why did you choose the city/state/country where you're getting married? {Brit Perkins Photography}

    Not getting married in mine or his hometown. Mine is in a suburb of Atlanta and the only people there that I keep in touch with are my parents and brother. They don't even go to the same church they did when I was growing up, with good reasons. My FH is from Brooklyn, way too expensive for a wedding and anyone other than his local friends to travel to even for a weekend. And I have no family or other close friends up there either. I live in TX now and my close friends now are either here or in FL, where I lived for 5 years as an adult. I also have friends in other states (that moved elsewhere since grad school), my FH's best friends are in other states, he has only his mom for family, and my extended family would come from AL, MI, and WA. It makes the most sense, financially, to have the wedding in TX; it'll be destination for a big chunk of guests, but it's just practical for us.

    I grew up in San Diego, CA — we’re getting married in my FH’s homestate of Connecticut, where we both currently* live. We felt more relaxed about keeping things local, according to our current lives — especially since a lot of our friends are now NYC or CT-based anyway. Several guests will still be out-of-state, but it was easiest for us (as a couple). Living in CT, I wanted to be able to see my vendors in person. And, since I always imagined a coastal wedding, I still found the perfect waterfront venue. ♥️
