Are you getting married in your hometown?

Are you getting married where you grew up / the place you consider to be your hometown? If not, why did you choose the city/state/country where you're getting married? {Brit Perkins Photography}

    My current city is about half-way between my hometown and my fiance's hometown, so it seems fair to both sides of the family. A lot of the guests don't drive / don't own a car (as I've lived in some big cities where not owning a car is common), and my current city is much easier to get to on public transit for the non-drivers.

    Nope! The barn we fell in love with was in rural PA just about an hour from both of our hometowns at the Jersey Shore.

    We are getting married close to my hometown. It is actually just 2 minutes over the mountain from my hometown and 15 mins away from FH hometown. So basically yes!

    No, we're not. We're getting married in our current city, and that happens to be closest to his family, while being a bit over an hour from my hometown. His grandparents aren't very mobile, so that influenced our decision to stay here instead of having everyone meet halfway.

    I currently live in Connecticut but I'm from Florida. We are actually getting married in North Carolina. We have family in Virginia, Mississippi, Florida, and Alaska so we just picked a central location where we found a venue we loved and within budget since people will have to travel regardless.

    I did! It was hard to plan from a distance but it was very special and sentimental to me to be able to get married where I grew up. I didn't grow up dreaming of my wedding, but I always knew the venue where I wanted to have my ceremony, so I'm really grateful it all worked out.

    Home state. Close enough! We chose a venue location that was between our hometowns.

    We aren't getting married in either of our hometowns! FH and I moved here separately, and we met and live here. works out because it's a good middle ground from my home town (3 hours West) and his hometown (5 hours South), so we aren't favoring one family over the other.

    I live in Vermont now, but my fiancé and I are both from central PA. We would love to have the wedding up here since it is absolutely beautiful, but we are getting married at home so we can be sure all of our friends and family can be there. Luckily we found a beautiful venue at home that we are thrilled with.

    We are! We live about an hour away now, but both our parents live there and most of our family/friends are still close by Smiley smile

    Nope! FH's family lives the closet to the venue but that's still about 1.5 hours away. We chose it for the lovely mountains that we both love!

    We're getting married where we live, and have lived for the past 2.5 years, halfway between my family and his family. People keep asking if I'm getting married where Im from and I find it so strange because I haven't lived there in almost 10 years, and when I DID live there I was pretty open about how much I hated it. Nope. No desire, and there are maybe 2 people from there we are even inviting.

    We are getting married in our hometown. It made more sense to have it there since we are both from the same area and easier for 80% of our guest to attend.
