Are send and seal invites "too cheap"...ugh

So I went to Ann's Bridal Bargains, found the perfect design, did all the added text, then realized they were a send and seal. Long story short, mom went ballistic saying they were just soooo cheap (I based what I chose on the design not that they were send and seal). Well, I am willing to buy...

Long story short, mom went ballistic saying they were just soooo cheap (I based what I chose on the design not that they were send and seal). Well, I am willing to buy envelopes for them as well as a small envelope for the RSVP card but my mom insists the style is just bad and cheap. Did anyone else get send and seals? Did you have a hard time finding envelopes if you did in fact decide to put them in envelopes?

Just googled them! I think they look just fine! I would only worry about them getting any damage that an envelope might protect them from. Not cheap at all tho!

We used them and everyone loved them. We used Ann's also. Our wedding wasn't super formal so it fit.

Can you order a sample, so your mom can see them in person? I would worry about the cheapness of the paper but maybe you could upgrade it? I think the envelopes will help, too.

COnsinder that a major theme in every BAM is "I can't believe I stressed so much about...." Put 'what kind of envelopes my invites went out in" at the top of that list. Your guests will spend less than two seconds looking at the envelope. They'll check the names on the front to see who's invited (MAYBE!) and the return address to see who's inviting them (MAYBE!) and that is all, I promise. No one will care if it's seal and send, if it's done in calligraphy, whether the return address is on the corner or the back-- go with whatever's easier and be done.

These are ours. We love them. Total price would've been $180 for 100. We ended up ordering envelopes off of amazon for them.

I don't think they look cheap at all. I actually like the all in one deal. We received 3 wedding invitations this summer and all 3 were seal and send. They're a pain in the ass and I won't be using them. But that's just me and my quirky pet peeves.

Edited: None of them were in envelopes either, I actually think that would have made a complete difference to me.

Ditto Zoe! I actually showed them to my mom again and FH and explained that by getting envelopes it would make them much more presentable, look "fancier", and be an overall great look. My mom also got to thinking that putting stamps on a post card would be more economical than an envelope. I am ordering them tonight!

Julia, you may not receive this note, but this is the EXACT invitation we are considering sending for our formal morning Victorian themed wedding. So excited to see this post. What paper upgrade did you choose? We haven't decided. Did your guests love them? I think these are gorgeous. So us. I wasn't planning on putting in an envelope. Opinion?
