Are dads supposed to have boutonnieres?

Lucy, on December 24, 2014 at 8:41 AM Posted in Planning 0 31

My florist didn't say anything about the dads. Just corsages for the moms. But then my mom told me yesterday that dads are supposed to have boutonnieres along with FHs side of the bridal party. Is this true? I've seriously never heard of that. I'm fine with getting them, I just didn't know & since the florist didn't say anything, I just assumed I was correct.

I think it's very common. Some people are opting for pocket squares or other things.

Yes, typically they do. Except my dad. My dad can get herpes.

My Dad and DH's dad both had one. We also got one for our Pastor. Smiley smile

ETA: If DH or I had any living Grandfathers, they would have had them as well.

I included them in the count. Every florist that I sat down with included them when we went over what was needed.

I'm doing them for both fathers but the groomsmen will only be wearing pocket squares.

I think it's pretty common too. You can even do bouts for grandfathers. We're doing bouts for the dads

I like it, but that being said, I've also had three BP's in the last month that haven't had bouts on anyone.

Both our Dad's have passed away but my son is walking me down the isle and we got him one to wear. I think it is a sweet gesture for parents to have something special like that and also anyone in the wedding party.

We are getting them for our dads and officiant. I think if you are doing flowers for the moms you should do them for the dads as well.

FH and the groomsmen do not want to wear them but I am doing them for Dad, FH Dad and my Grampy (only grandfather left).

Guys in the bridal party are just doing the pocket squares.
