Are dads supposed to have boutonnieres?

My florist didn't say anything about the dads. Just corsages for the moms. But then my mom told me yesterday that dads are supposed to have boutonnieres along with FHs side of the bridal party. Is this true? I've seriously never heard of that. I'm fine with getting them, I just didn't know & since...

All men in places of honor typically get one (GM, FOB, FOG, and sometimes even grandfathers). You don't have to spend a lot of money on them (they're typically less expensive than a corsage and my least favorite part of an order -- lots of tiny handwork on what usually turns out to be a dozen of them) .

I've made them for all the men in the wedding party; not the officiant though.

We decided to do every groomsman, my FH, my dad, my FFIL and my birth father and RB.

On the flip side, we are doing, flowers for my BMs, mom, FMIL and my birth mom. Petals for FG

I didn't, and I'm sorry for that. I wish I had. I had a corsage for Mom, but nothing for my step-father or my dad. If I had a do-over, I would definitely have them. It's just one of those details that got lost in the madness.

I've always seen the men involved in the wedding with them....is it "wrong" if they do not have them?

My dad, his dad and our godparents will have them. I wanted to make sure they stood out since they are so important to us.

I am doing them for the grooms, Dad's, Step-dad, and grandfathers. I have always seen Dad's with boutonnieres.
