Hey all!

I need help convincing my FH that an arch isn't necessary. We are getting married in a gorgeous forest, and I just don't think he can visualize what it would look like sans-arch (I feel like it's pretty simple, you just look at the space 🤣). Anyone have any pictures of their setups without arches?

This is our ceremony space sans arch! I would’ve liked to have one, but I feel like it’s not necessary given how pretty the room is to begin with, so not worth the hassle and extra $

If you need something to frame the space, maybe some columns or vases of flowers? But once the chairs are there the space will be framed enough on it's own.

Simple way to dress up trees for a ceremony space. The white paper lanterns are sold at Dollar tree so thats a cost effective solution.

We wanted to do something other than arch for ours as well. I got big lanterns and shepherds hooks that flowers will cascade out of for the end of the aisle. Here’s an idea I found on Pinterest!

Hopefully he can be convinced that the forest IS the beautiful backdrop. Therefore, no distracting arch is needed. Good luck!

This is a pic I took off my venues website. Its a sunken garden with so much greenery around. There is that white arch but It doesn't get decorated because of the nature and greenery around it.

Granted this is not our wedding, but our venue is a golf course that has a gorgeous Adirondack-styled hall. With a couple of poinsettias (we're getting married in December), our altar is all set.
It sounds like the natural landscape will be your altar. But if he's looking for something to define the space, then maybe a couple of small tables with flowers will work.
