Archaic worded wedding invitation. Love, like, or hate? 💍

Hi! Ok, my fiancé has one of the longest names on Earth. He requested that I do my best to get his full name on one line. Lol! Our theme is Victorian/Upscale Fairytale. Thank God I excelled in my creative writing classes in college. ❤ Real copy below with our fonts. Date is incorrect on this copy....

When he read it, he had tears streaming down his face. That made my tummy do a flip flop. This tough, handsome jock, whom I love with all of my heart, loved the wording. I'd just like to know what you'd think if you received an unusually worded invite? I'm hoping that gives the clue that the wedding has a vintage theme. We aren't changing it, but I value your opinions so much. Big hug and a kiss you each of you!! 💕💖💕 Thanks!!

Have you thought about choosing another complementary font to use for some of the less important words? I think it would help the page look less busy!

Of course, if you like it, no reason to change it -- just giving my two cents as a graphic designer Smiley smile I wish you the best!

Hi! I've studied graphic design, too. 😊 What style font did you have in mind? I chose this one because on the front of the invitation are the words "Dreams do come true" in a large font that is the same style as the font I used for the body of the invite. Feel free to chime in with your two cents anytime. ❤ Again, I'm open to your suggestions.

I really like the idea of old timey wording too I confused the crap out of my guest because I thought it looked pretty to write out "Répondez s'il vous plaît" on top of my RSVP cards.

I agree with some PP that this may come off as a borderline black tie event (very very very formal). Perhaps find a less intense font that looks more vintage and less formal. Aside from that, I totally get the long name thing. I have a 15 syllable name and my DH has a 12 syllable name!

Hi! Thanks you for sharing your story. It does look pretty to write out RSVP. ❤ We are having a very formal morning wedding. I even have under dress code on our website "think black tie if it were an evening wedding." Lol I've asked guests to dress as they would for Easter or Christmas. We've even asked ladies to wear hats, but not required. Yes, getting long names on an invite is tough. I knew I'd never get his surname on there unless in teeny, tiny type. We have quite a few older guests. This worked perfectly. I appreciate your input.

Hi, sorry it took so long to get back to you! I think it would make the invitation a little more readable if you used maybe a Victorian-era serif font (similar to the ones in the photo I've attached) for the smaller/less important stuff. Font names are different based on operating system and design software, but I was imagining something like this?

I wrote a long response. It just disappeared. So odd!! Yes, I had a font similar to one of these from another company on another invite. I'm going to look through this company's fonts again. As you said, you have to actually look because the names aren't the same. Thank you so much for your thoughts and suggestions. Very appreciated. Congratulations!! ❤
