April 25th wedding-coronavirus

Brandi, on March 29, 2020 at 4:52 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 2
My wedding date is April 25th but, like so many others, I'm facing having to cancel it due to the coronavirus. We have so many family members, namely our parents, that we just can't chance them getting it. My fiance and I are talking about going ahead and getting married by the officiant and just having our parents present and no one else, either on that date or before. And then having a ceremony later when all this is over...where I'll get to wear my dress. We are contemplating other options as well. It is so disappointing and heartbreaking. But are any other brides doing the same or anything similar?

We were also supposed to get married April 25th in Jamaica. I’ve been back and forth on what to do. But at this point, I don’t know if we’d even be able to get married locally on our date because all of our city hall offices are closed. Plus I still feel like I want to be able to celebrate with family and friends, so I’ve given up on our original date. We are planning to try to throw together a local ceremony and small dinner reception hopefully in August, if we are able to by then. We all have credits to use at the resort in Jamaica eventually, but I don’t know when we will be able to travel internationally again and we just want to get married as soon as we can.
