Anyone wearing flip flops at your reception???

Brandi ♥'s Chris, on July 29, 2011 at 4:08 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 37

So, I am going to wear these shoes (pic below) for the ceremony and for as long as I possible can at the reception. However, I know they will end up hurting my feet at some point, so I am thinking of having a pair of flip flops with a higher wedge so that my dress doesn't drag too much during the reception. I'm not having a beach theme or anything. Do you think this is ok to do? Is anyone else considering flip flops at their reception. Thanks =)

I might have to, but that's because we are doing a special dance, and I can't wear heels for that

I've seen it done TONS of times. Go for it! I will probably just be barefooted since I tend to be all the time anyway

I'm wearing ballerina flats to our ceremony and reception. FH is only about 6 inches taller than me, and I like to keep it that way! Those flip-flops are super cute, I'm sure you'll look fabulous!

I love your shoes! I am switching to flip flops ASAP cause me and heels do not get along at all. I have seen a lot of brides do that. As long as you still keep it sort of dressy like a little rhinestone studded. I want to be comfortable and i know i won't be able to enjoy myself if i'm in pain.

That was the plan until the limo driver took off with them. Mine were white with a blinged out heart on them. Would have went so well with the occasion.

Im going to probably buy a cute flat sandal and I will provide a basket of flip flops for the female guests (and display it in the bathroom)

I bought "bridal flipflops." My friend, who bought me really nice wedding shoes as a gift, has since vetoed them. Smiley smile We'll see...

I am planning on kicking off my heels as soon as pictures are over after the ceremony. I will have flip flops (white maybe) but there's a strong chance I will roll barefoot. I LOVE being barefoot, and its my wedding, might as well be comfy while dancing! Smiley smile

That's a good idea Chuwana. Your guests will appreciate it.

@Karen, where'd you find those? The ones I just posted with the rhinestones are out of stck and I'm pissed so now I have to find a different pair.

Chuwana where do you buy those flip flops again? The bucket of them? I think I want to provide to my guests as well

For me, flip flops seem like a disaster waiting to happen. I'm pretty clumsy and I can just see the heel getting the dress stuck under it, tripping or having someone step on my toes LOL

I'm considering using this site to find a 'shoe' that I can wear that would be more comfortable (and safe) than flip flops.

I dont know about a bucket but I'm going to get the flip flops from a 99 cent store or dollardays.com and then buy a nice basket to put them in

I most likely will once my feet start hurting. Since you can't see my shoes anyway, I'll switch into flip flops as soon as I can.

For you brides having beach weddings -- have you seen the "honeymoon sandals" ?

They leave imprints in the sand "Just" and "Married" and come in white for the bride and black for the groom.
