Anyone use hitchswitch or know someone?

Bethany , on October 28, 2017 at 5:44 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hey guys, I'm starting the process of changing my name and I was wondering if anyone has used hitchswitch or heard of someone who has? trying to decide if it is worth it or if I should just do it on my own.

It's not worth it. Just find a name change checklist and find the forms yourself. They are basically just charging you to make the process half a step easier.

Personally, I'd be sketched out about someone/a company having all my personal info, so no.

There are good resources (for free) that you can find!

It's a waste of money. Try www.bridekit.com (it's free) but honestly, all you need to do is contact SS, then your motor vehicle dept. then everything else as you need it.

There's nothing they do that you can't just as easily do yourself for free. You're sharing secure info with them that as always has the potential to come back to haunt you. Literally the most difficult things are social security and dmv. And you still have to do that if you use them. You also have to give them all of your credit cards info etc. I just don't feel like it's worth it personally.

Their customer service is top-notch. I sent them a detailed request as my life is complicated— I travel a lot and have several addresses, etc. I received an immediate reply letting me know that all of my “issues” could be easily resolved, and really it was a relief. They are very personable and it’s worth every penny. I would not want to spend my time waiting on lines at various governmental offices, etc. to hear I have the wrong paperwork, etc. That relief alone far exceeds the $89 cost.
