Anyone tried ai dress previews for wedding gown visualization?

Lynn, on October 25, 2024 at 6:16 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

Hi fellow brides!

I recently learned about using AI technology to visualize how different wedding dress styles might look. Has anyone tried this approach while dress shopping? I'm curious about others' experiences with visualizing different silhouettes and styles before going to boutiques.

I'm particularly interested in:

  • How helpful was it for narrowing down styles?
  • Did the visualization match reality when you tried on actual dresses?
  • Did it help you communicate your vision to consultants?

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences! I'm early in my dress search and trying to figure out the most effective way to find "the one."

Thanks!

Online retailers have seemed to experiment before the arrival of AI by showing outfits displayed either on a picture you or of "models" with different proportions. But this technology did not seem to become popular.

A few things to consider initially are features you may not like. Maybe too much illusion material may not seem good. Will a dress interfere with sitting and dancing? Maybe you decide (at least as a first guess) what train style you would like and whether you want to bustle a dress.

One option to try at home is to try on various outfits you already have. Take pictures of yourself in these outfits. Decide what necklines work and those that are not so good. Figure out what styles of outfits help emphasize your looks.

You can also do a sketch of your body and then draw out various styles to see what styles would look best on you. This is the low tech way of doing the task.

Thanks for sharing such thoughtful advice! I especially like your practical tip about trying on clothes you already have to figure out what necklines and styles work best. Just wanted to add - I tried this app called Mirror bridal dress that lets you virtually try on wedding dresses using AI. You just upload your photo and can see how different dresses would look on you from home. Could be a fun way to experiment with styles before hitting the bridal shops!

Sounds like the app could be fun. Getting a sense of preferred dress styles before shopping is good idea. Does the app have a good selection and seem to represent you decently in the try-ons? You can also note if there are details you would like and those that may not work. Remember though that some dresses take as long as 6 months to receive. So you probably should get to the shops soon. Hoping the best.

Yeah a few trending selections from Pronovias and some other high-end brands that I probably wouldn't be able to try on offline. And thanks for the reminder too!
