Anyone postponing their wedding due to the pandemic?

Our wedding was booked for November 27th, 2020. It is now postponed until November 13th, 2021. I live in NJ amd was planning a 100 person wedding in a beautiful facility called The smithville Inn. We made this decision to postpone because of the pandemic. I cant try on wedding dresses, bridesmaids cant try on any either. I was about to send out save the dates mid march good thing I waited and was gonna book all the entertainment DJ, cigar roller etc. With the uncertainty of everything we waited. I just felt like our wedding was gonna be rushed and guests wouldn't be able to come. Many people are going on unemployment and its hitting some people hard. So paying for hotel room and attending wedding might not be an option for some guests. It sucks for all those going through this right now.

I live in NJ also and we were having a nice size wedding (around 150 ppl) on July 2nd. We are now looking to also postpone until September or July next year. Hoping if it does down soon September will be enough time of ppl getting back to work. Luckily it’s about 10% that need to travel which is some of my immediate family and the remaining friends and family all live in NJ. We had already been engaged for almost 2 years so had a lot of things done already.

Best of luck to you! And i would say def keep planning so you can stay ahead of schedule 😊

Hi fellow NJ brides to be! I was supposed
To be getting married May 30th down in the cape May area. We postponed to October 31, 2020. I know NJ is not looking too good as of now, but I’m hoping in 6months things will get better by October this year. I think that hopefully the number of people allowed in gatherings will be up to at least 150-200 by then. (I PRAY) My dilemma- is I am already 33 and there is no way I am waiting until 2021 to celebrate the marriage of love of my life. I am trying to be flexible and know that in October 2020 it may not be exactly what I envision... but that’s ok with me. Also part of my consideraron was that where my guests booked rooms, they would not most likely accommodate for 2021, they were willing to reschedule for 2020... Another thing that made me want to do 2020 is that I have some older guests attending and I realize time is valuable and I’m not sure how much longer they would be around if I wait too long Smiley sad I think this pandemic has all caused us to make really tough decisions. I hope it all works out the best for you both. Good luck and let’s pray for good health and safety for all- especially NJ!
