So I was thinking about taking that part out however my mom keeps telling me its "tradition" so now I don't know what to do?? Is anyone else taking this out of their reception?

Not doing either. Especially since my FH thought it would be hilarious to pull a giant pair of stained underwear out from under my dress, toss it aside and then pull off the garter. There's no way in HELL is getting under my dress and doing that! As for the bouquet toss. I'm not giving someone my bouquet nor do I have extra flowers to make a toss bouquet.

Im nervous about it. FH thought about cancelling it but then figured out a stupid song and dance to do and he is so excited. If I gave my bouquet to the couple that has been married the longest, that would be my parents. They've been married for 26 years in august (separated for 8 though lol)

Bouquet toss, yes... garter, no. My florist is making a toss bouquet... if I hadn't already had it included in the package I probably would skip the bouquet toss as well.

The garter toss just seems weird to me.

We have A LOT of singles coming to our wedding so we will be doing both. They have done them both in the last few (Family) weddings and everyone loved it. I guess it's just about what you prefer and what kind of guests you have. If we didn't have enough singles we wouldn't be doing it.

Nope I really don't like either so no way will I be doing them.

There will be a fair few single people at the wedding as well.

My fiance and I used to pretend to go to the bathroom whenever we went to weddings and this happened. One time we even were excited that we were sat in the back corner near a propped door for an easy exit!

It was so uncomfortable for us and even when I was single, it was probably the least fun part of a wedding!

We are obviously NOT having a garter/bouqet toss.

Nope! No tossing of flowers or clothing. Actually no reception either. Just one big party.

I was thinking about the same thing. It is a cute tradition..but I really don't think it's a big deal if you don't do it.

We're not doing the typical tosses. We're dong more of games. A garter ring toss, and a hot potato game with the bouquet. We have a lot of children in the family so it will allow more to be included. The winner will get a small prize.

We aren't doing one either. My FI family is very conservative and he is very shy and we have very few single people (besides kids under 10), so it would be pointless and awkward for us. I don't think it's that big of a deal.

Doing the bouquet toss... for now. Def not the garter toss. It just seems like a waste of time and i'd be uncomfortable.

We're not doing it. Vast majority of our guests are married. I will have a garter, but that's for FH to take off AFTER the reception

I'm doing the bouquet toss, but not the garter toss. My fiancé is the only one who will ever get to see my undergarments!

I don't want to, FH said he really wants to. *Sigh* I didn't think he would care if we didn't do it, but apparently he does. Lame.

Didn't do either One. Totally dated. Actually I just red an article that said less than 20% of weddings have these anymore

I might do the bouquet toss, but no one needs to see the cellulite on my thighs for a garter toss, thanks!

No bouquet or garter toss here! I'm just not that into it. The garter fetch creeps me right out!
