Anyone NOT Doing A Country Song for a 1st Dance?

MrsPtoBe, on September 30, 2011 at 4:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 68

I understand country is the go to genre for romantic dances, but it's not our genre of choice. Is anyone out there NOT doing a country song for their first dance? We were planning on "Oh, It is Love" by Hellogoodbye! even though it's not really dance-able. I also have nooo idea where to begin with for me and my dad!

I didn't have a country song. We danced to Elvis, The Wonder of You. Funny thing is that Jeff has this song on his Ipod, which I never heard before and I loved it and wish it was mine. It's Billy Joel "You're My Home"

We are doing a song that probably no one at our wedding will know. It's not mainstream at all. Good luck!!!

    Kina Grannis - Valentine

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=840NbiFF1zM

It's between that and another Kina song - The One You Say Goodnight To...

I love her voice. The songs are kinda fast but Valentine is a perfect song for spins I think...

Usually my genre is county and pop, but my Fh and I picked our first dance to be Hero by Enrique Iglesias! My mom never heard it and loves it!

Our friend sang our first dance song. It was country, but she arranged to get it played on a piano and recorded it. Then she sang along to the recorded piano version.

Ours was, "Dance Me to the End of Love," by Leonard Cohen. I've never seen anyone online using it. However, at one point we went to a park for a dance lesson. There was a wedding in a shelter at the park. And all of a sudden, the wedding started playing that song.
