Anyone not doing a Bouquet Toss?

So I told my mom that my FH and I were not planning on doing a bouquet toss (and garter toss as well) at our reception. Personally, I hate the tradition. When I attended weddings, I always tried to avoid having to stand up and catch it. Also since it is usually done with the "single women" at the wedding, we are having a smallish wedding (80 or so people) and I can count on probably 1 hand the number of single people who will be there. I just think it's pointless and not a tradition I feel like having at my wedding. Well it basically blew my Mom's mind that I don't want to do this at my wedding, because it's always been done at every wedding she has gone to.

Is anyone else forgoing on the bouquet/garter toss?

We did do the toss either. We only had two single guests, both my daughters. So, we had an Anniversary Dance and since my parents have been married 51 years, they were the last standing and got a bouquet I made for them.

Re the garter, I only wore one that I made for my daughter. It has her gold Italian horn and her Miraculous Medal. I was a tad tipsey so we did make a production of giving it to her FH. The pics are hysterical. I can't post them or she will kill me.

We did neither for the same list of reasons. I've never cared for the garter thing at other weddings (awkward..), and I didn't want to destroy my beautiful bouquet or buy one to tear up.

I think we are going to ask some of the single people ahead for opinions on it.

We didn't do either toss at our wedding. Honestly, the assumption that every single person is competing to get married first struck us as insulting.

We are not doing it but we are having a couples dance. The dance will end with having the couple that has been married the longest (DJ monitoring the dance) and telling us the secret to a long and happy marriage and then we will give them the bouquet and oh course photos with them.
