Anyone nervous about May 2021 wedding being canceled?

Elizabeth, on August 5, 2020 at 6:51 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 12
Hi everyone. My original wedding date was May 2020 but we postponed it to May 2021 because of COVID. I know a lot can happen between now and next May but I'm worried we will be in the same situation next year. If that happens, we will have to cut our losses and just elope. Pretty much all our big expenses are booked. Anyone else in the same boat? Are you feeling optimistic? I'm just venting...

My wedding is March 2021 and I have a feeling that it will be better by then. We have pretty much paid off our wedding but I am still planning the remaining things as if it will happen on time with few restrictions. I think that it will be much better after the fall, however no one can be sure.

I’m May 2021 as well! I am hoping for the best but at the same time being prepared for anything. You have to consider what you would do if things remain the way they are this year. With that said I am staying as positive as I can about everything and hoping that we will know so much more about COVID by then and hopefully have a vaccine/treatment. If we do not however, I personally am going forward with my wedding plans as long as I can have a decent amount of close friends and family. I want to be married to my best friend and that’s what matters most to me. Let’s all just hope and pray that 2021 is a better year for weddings!

I am May 29 2021 and I’m not worried at all! Our venue holds 300 people and we will only have 150. We will be able to social distance and wear masks!

I’m 5/15/21 & I’m not worried yet. Just pushing forward and planning as normal.

Should COVID destroy my wedding plans, we’ll likely still get married on the same date & just push the reception to the following year.

Yes, getting married March 2021. I have reached out to the venue to see how things are going with weddings being held, she said they are having weddings now and expects things to be better by then.

Sorry for causing worry to those that weren't worried before my post! I'm trying to stay positive. It's a long time from now so I'm hopeful we will all be just fine. 😁

I think I'm more paranoid than I should be lol because I had to postpone mine a year and ours is a destination wedding so it makes it harder to coordinate the logistics from a different state.

There will likely be way less restrictions by then, but I do not believe the virus will be gone by any means unfortunately. I would keep planning the wedding exactly as you want it, but would also talk to your venue about a plan B just in case
