Anyone just starting to plan their second wedding because the first one didn’t happen?

Due to COVID my first 04/04 wedding in Las Vegas was cancelled only 2 weeks before. After months of being sad about it, my mother and I have just gotten excited about planning all over again. This time I’m having it in my home town, Atlanta! Is anyone keeping the same plans and/or decor, or are you doing something different?

We're getting married in Las Vegas (our hometown). Sorry to hear that yours got cancelled. Our original date was supposed to be next month and all our wedding plans changed about 3 times pre-covid.

We also recently just changed venues so now we're planning a whole new wedding for a whole new date and a couple of new colors lol. Luckily, we hadn't ordered any invites or anything. Now, with covid, we're really hoping we don't have to make it a 4th time.

We've already got our save the dates in production with our designer and just crossing our fingers that everything works out for the better! I wish you the best of luck with your new wedding plans. Keep your head up and stay positive!

Yes this happened to me. We are getting married on Saturday and have had to "replan" our 150 guest wedding to a 25 guest wedding. We are so excited with our new plan and didn't have to change that much simply because our venue is allowing us to have a small ceremony there for free after postponing our large event to next year. The only things we have had to change are the flowers (no more centerpieces), the DJ, the catering (only having cake) and not having our entire bridal party walk down the aisle.

So I’m currently planning two different options. My original date is 102 days away, but I’m still not sure what will he allowed. But my venues be photographer is willing to reschedule with no fees if I decide. But plan B will be a private ceremony on our date and then hosting a 1yr vow renewal and reception.

That’s nice you’ll get to be in your home town!

We’re postponing our larger celebration until next year and eloping this fall. We’re looking at a different ceremony venue, I’m getting another dress to wear for next year, FH May do a different suit or accessories, and we’re adding a few decor items as we go. Decor is going to remain very much the same as we love our colors and theme.

I love that you are getting to have both the private ceremony and your full wedding at the same place! That’s pretty sweet of them. Plus think of all the pretty pictures.

Yes! People who couldn’t make it before will be able to come. Some of my decor is changing as well. The only think that will be the same or similar are the flowers.

Hopefully you’ll be fine by October. Most venues are adjusting and finding ways to practice social distancing. One thing I did hear is that some places may not allow dancing.

Originally it was supposed to be this year but it's not next year. We decided this year pre-covid and had to change due to financial situations. Even then, we did cancel our previous plan during covid which is for next year.

But my guest list is the max for my facility, so no matter what if we’re still enforcing the 6ft thing my venue would tell me to cut numbers and I’m just not going to do that nor do I want to find a different venue, so I’ll go with plan B.

I understand that. I didn’t want to settle either.
