Congratulations! My fiance and I are set for March 4th of 2023. I got engaged over the summer and we started looking right away to make sure we could have things going early with the pandemic going on. We looked at only 2 venues through the virtual tours they had set up and visited 1. We instantly knew it was the one and had already picked out a date in the summer. We have our venue, DJ, bakery, photographer we're trying to decide on, and decor. Can't wait for March 3rd 2023!

Nope not too early with covid postponing so many 2020 brides plans and starting to change 2021 brides plans you don’t want to end up not getting the venue of your dreams so I’d lock it in! Let’s be honest most of us picked this date bc it’s the sweet spot of not being “wedding season” which saves us lots of money but still have the perks of a spring season wedding and we aren’t the only ones with this idea so book NOW! Maybe negotiate the deposit instead of 50% maybe 25% to hold date and then 2022 process another 25% and final payment right before the wedding that’s fair for both parties. We are getting married in Italy and it’s a lot of moving parts and I’m planning most of it solo since I don’t want to commit to a wedding planner due to cost just yet! So far I’ve been rocking and rolling and planning to lock in deposits this March so it will be at the 24 month window for a countdown to start! Lol have fun planning the wedding traditions have been disrupted so take the seat belt off forget the “norms” and enjoy every min of planning! I’ve been having so much fun making plans emailing vendors getting idea budget layouts etc plus I have all this time to save save save Im loving it! Congratulations and time is going to fly!

I don’t think it’s ever too early to start planning. I’m having a long engagement so I can save as much as I can so early planning is helping me know how much I need to budget. I’m not putting down deposits until probably a year before though.

I booked my April 2023 wedding this past October! Certain specific vendors may not be booking out until we hit the under two year mark but the majority are already and venues are booking up like crazy where I am.

We were engaged February 2020, we are getting married feb 2 2023. We went with a packaged venue and the only thing I have to worry about is outfits, photographer, and floral. We will, hopefully, have the wedding paid off December 2021. We are doing it this way so we can have an EXTRAORDINARY 2 week honeymoon, that we can pay on all 2022 with a trip advisor. We are huge about travel and thats super important to us. The earlier the better, especially from a financial stand point. My friend was engaged Jan 2020 and had a full blown wedding and honeymoon on Nov 1 2020. I have never seen such stress. So what I took from it is MORE TIME. Were gonna spend the rest of our lives with them anyways! But I definitely recommend a packaged venue and getting on that early for payments!

    Hi!
I got engaged in October 2020 and just booked our venue for 2023. It’s not too early to start looking. But you don’t have to worry about booking immediately. The venue I liked just books faster than others so we had to book quicker than planned. Good luck!! 💕

I've already begun touring vendors. The first one i toured told me they don't accept reservations further than 18 mo's out but the last one i looked at states reservations can be booked as far out as I wanted so I think it all depends on the venue

It’s never too early to find a venue. The longer you wait, the more likely the location you want will be booked!

    Hello Lonnie
I am actually in the middle of looking for venues. Once I decide on a venue and food I pretty much will be done. All of my stationary I did myself since that is type of small business that I do. So of course with these though I have been revising and revising. I also have to get my dress as well but I already know the style that I want and everything. We have chosen our theme and I am excited about our colors. At first we were thinking of getting married on our anniversary of 5 years but he changed it to the Saturday before Valentine’s Day cause he wants double gifts and the minute he said that I joked and was like well if that’s the case let’s do it on December 23. Yeah I put my foot in my mouth cause that’s what he wants to do now. Lol smh. I love that you have gotten everything out of the way your like me we do not want to waste time nor wait to the last minute. The only thing I am debating about is the fact I am an event planner and have my custom stationary business but do I want to d sign the vision for the wedding. Oh my Dilemmas. But I will make that decision shortly. Congratulations on your day and I wish you the best

Absolutely not. Especially considering a lot of couples had to postpone their wedding due to COVID, 2021 is booked and 2022 is filling up at a lot of venues. Choosing a venue at the earliest you can gives you the chance to pick a date during peak season (May-October) and have a higher probability of getting whatever date you want. That’s what we did, we got to choose our date in May of 2023 which is usually a very busy month. Plus the other benefit is it gives you a chance to save money before it’s due later. Hope this helps! Congrats!

Omg I am getting married in May as well the 20th what day are you getting married. We just made a decision to get married in front of our lake here at our house and using our barn for our reception that we will go in and start renovating to make it look like a wedding venue. And we are building a secret garden that will house our venue. I am excited cause we are also going to bring snow to the spring. What can I say I want a classical winter wedding but in the spring

Now that is such a coincidence. It will be and his 5 year anniversary of dating but at that point we would have done. Known each other for 20years

Getting married April 1, 2023! Been engaged for over a year now. Nothing booked yet, but definitely doing the research and gathering. My fiancé and I are paying for our wedding on our own so I’m starting early to make sure we get the most for our budget. Hoping to have a venue booked by the summer.
