I am planning a vow renewal for June of 2014. It will be our 11th anniversary. We got married on Friday the 13h and are going to do it again! The first time was at the courthouse and no showers no reception no nothing. Now we have 3 kids and are a little better off. I can't wait. We are having a Catholic ceremony since we still aren't married in the church and then a kick ass party after that! Lets keep this forum going!

Not the wedding I wanted and he promised me a redo with our renewal I don't have a date yet I'm thinking 2014 or 2015 but I'd like to figure where is like it and things like that we have been married a little over a year and have a 9month old son. I'm so ready to plan this and get the wedding we deserve

My son was diagnosed with final stage cancer. He and his bride wanted to renew vows. They have been married for 16 years. So on February 23rd, we had a small intimate ceremony with thirty guests and family. I planned the ceremony and officiated it. They were married by the justice of peace the first time. Our son has only a short time left and he stated that it was the most remember experience he had ever had. All who attended felt the love and devotion that this family had for one another. I hope that my grandchildren will remember this event so their marriage will be as spiritual and committed to one another. Now my husband and I will be doing our renewals June 6 for 15 years. It will be a very simple and unique one that I have designed. We feel that one shouldn't take things for granted because you never know when time will end.

We are renewing our vows on July 19, 2014. We are calling it the 7 Year Itch Vow Renewal. Not that either of us are getting an itch, but thought it would be fun! We are going the traditional wedding route like big ball gown, adult flower girl etc. It's going to either be on the beach or on a yacht. So much fun planning!

It was definitely a fun experience planning, though it was a bit stressful at times. But in the end, everyone really enjoyed themselves and my husband and I are so happy we did it (and that it's over, lol!). Good luck with your plans!

My husband and I have been thinking about renewing our vows next year. It will be our 13th anniversary and we were married on the 13th.The people who were at our wedding loved our wedding and said it was the best one they were at. They did not see what when on behind the scenes. How bad is it when the poor box in the Church gets robbed and I have to line up my family and check their pockets. I swear that is a true story and 1 of many many more!!! The one thing that I really regret is that we did not use a professional photographer. The person we used was is photography school. She did OK but I look at other peoples wedding pics and I just wish we had a professional. Am I being selfish or not. I also suffered a serious head injury that nearly cost me my life. That is another reason I'm feeling like it's a selfish move. Can I get some advise please?

My husband and I are going to have a renewal on our 5th anniversary (1 day after to make it a Friday). Our date is August 21, 2015, so we have time. We had a very small wedding, which no family attended, and his dad passed away 4 days after. We couldn't afford a "real" wedding, but can do more now. I also want a wedding dress and a reception with the works. I've helped friends plan weddings, and have officiated some, but it seems more complicated when its mine. I'm excited anyway!

It will be 19 years for us. We were going to wait until 25 but my husband was diagnosed with progressive MS so he wants to do it now so he can enjoy himself with family and friends. I have almost all the major stuff done. Have to find another bakery (long story) and finish paying on my venue and then the fun begins lol....tasting all the food to make choices for the dinner and cocktail hour...yeah buddy! Lol

Hey ladies... Very happy to find you all. So 10 years ago in December hubby and I said I do in the courthouse with a few other people. We have been through a lot and overcome many storms. We want to renew our vows and have it a venue and not a wedding but something memorable and cheriable. I know all over the internet this is tacky but could i get some tips from you all. my husband wants something simple and I am doing my best to keep it that way, lol the venue is free and beautiful but not sure how to do this. TIPS and ADVICE

Tip: Don't let anyone discourage you from planning your dream wedding. Most people who scoff at this idea have marriages that are lifeless, loveless, and basically done for; why would anyone take advice from people like this? If you and your hubby love each other so much that you still feel like young married newlyweds, and want to renew your wedding vows with a WEDDING, then so be it!

This is one of the better sites which are really supportive for those seeking vow renewals; only one or two posters, that I've seen, disagree with the idea. Do whatever you want...it's your day.

    Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials...again!

I have started planning my our 10 year anniversary/Vow Renewal. I want us to have the wedding and the memories that are created on your wedding day that we didn't get with tons of photos, my grandad walking down the aisle. I am planning a big ceremony/party with a masquerade ball theme. I have been looking on line and I was getting a bit discouraged until I found this post. Most sites say that you shouldn't have a big fancy wedding for a vow renewal after reading your posts I know I am not the only one feeling this way. I have started looking for venues but I am not sure what to tell them exactly; am I looking for wedding venues or would this be considered an anniversary party? I want all of my family there that wasn't at our first wedding so our guest list will easily be 100 people and I would love to find a venue that allows you to bring your own food. I know this is a long shot other than finding some dinky community center in the DC Metro area.

This may sound strange, but my fiancé and I are going to be planning a vow renewal shortly after we get married. We are traveling 10 hours to get married at the beach in October of this year, but some very important people to us can't make the journey. We would like to have those people involved so we will be coming back and within the year renewing our vows to each other and having a party with everyone who couldn't make it.

So my husband and I married 2 weeks after getting engaged. We just headed to the courthouse and did it without telling a soul. Our original plan was to get married a year after but before that happened my engagement ring was stolen, I had to stop working because I was going to school f/t, and eventually life happened. 3 1/2 years later we still haven't had a wedding but most of our family and closest friends are already aware that we are married. We are still trying to replace the engagement ring but it's taking time. Sooo, I figure by the time we are able to get to it we can just do a vowel renewal between our 4-5th wedding anniversary. We live in Miami and even a small ceremony and reception adds up to a ridiculous amount of money. DH is really against spending crazy money on one night but I still want to have something. We want to keep everything under 10k. It also would not be more than 50 guests, if that. The only problem is that we gave a deposit to a church ($500) out of the $2k

...(cont) that it will cost just for the church. I really don't want to just let the deposit go so I want to put together a small reception. With that being said, I'm very glad to have stumbled upon this forum. I wish all of you ladies who are planning the best of luck and I hope to see how everything comes out. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome as I will try to do the same!

So glad to have found this site. I'm totally clueless on how to even go about planning a wedding. I was 7 months pregnant when we got married in my husbands living room with his mamas preacher his parents my mama and oldest brother his brother and his wife. And lets just say... His mama "planned" everything. So I didn't get to have a real wedding etc... So we are going to renew/have a wedding for our 20th anniversary in 2015 looking forward to seeing everyone's ideas.

I would love for this group to keep going. My husband and I are planning on renewing our vows for our 15th anniversary on 1/14/17. We got married at the court house and not the way I wanted it but what we could do. I want to do a small wedding in a church. I also think I going to dress up but not wear a wedding dress. Just something formal in the color of my wedding colors. I'm also hoping by then we can plan a honeymoon because we did not get to have one.

We have been talking about renewing our wedding vows since last year. This will be our 10th wedding anniversary/ vow renewal. I want to do Church wedding since we did Vegas package in 2007 with a MOP and went to Courthouse and family didn't attend and only 2 good friends attended and were our witnesses. We would like to go all out and have a reception also. Party etc. We are coming up to 7 years in June 11 2014 but didn't plan for our 7 year itch Anniversary. I didn't have anything in mind but maybe a local trip. I still have quiet some time but time flies and just now looking at some wedding dresses. It's not that early because before I planned 7 years in advance. Glad to find you ladies!
