Anyone else feel extremely uncomfortable during the garter removal?

I'm not doing it

Definitely skipping both bouquet and garter toss, just don't feel like it's necessary for us or our party. It seems to be more popular these days to skip these things!

Agreed! Sooooo awkward. We are definitely skipping it. Not doing the bouquet toss either.

We are skipping both the garter toss and the bouquet toss. We only have about 15 single ppl attending the wedding out of 190. So we don't want any of our single guests feeling called out.

I always hated those parts as a guest - I was single for so, so long and hated being called out - so we're skipping them for our wedding.

I believe I'm the first one to say we WILL be doing both gathering and bouquet toss!
I asked FH if he was OK with both, he said yes.

We're not going to be doing them over-the-top though. He's not going to be sticking his head under my dress and all that...just take it with his hands and toss, and I'll just be throwing my bouquet. Our families tend to have great senses of humor, and we're all comfortable with each other.

I recently attended a wedding where instead of doing the bouquet toss/ garter they did a generation dance instead.. they had all the married couples go onto the dance floor and every 15 seconds or so the DJ would say if you’ve been married 1 year, 3 year, 5 years etc until there was only 1 couple left and that couple got a gift from the bride/groom. It was awesome to see!

I think I'm going to skip it. I'm nothing if not traditional but this one isn't my favorite, and neither is the bouquet toss. More time to dance! Lol

I'm definitely still wearing a garter, though, because they're super cute!

I didn't skip it and it was painfully awkward. I legit hated it.

We're either skipping it entirely, or attaching gift cards to the bouquet and an unworn garter.
